That looks like it is going to be very pretty. But I hope it won't be an out and out F replica, which some will frown upon automatically. I hope it looks unique enough to stand alone as an original design just with lots of cues. Look forward to seeing it, but there is a lot of 250GT going into it.

Not sure if anyone caught the April issue of Complete Kit Car, but our Mirage 250 made it onto the front cover!
Safe to say we are more than happy with the article and makes the last 7 years worthwhile.
We will be attending Stoneleigh Kit Car show and Goodwood Revival this year, so hope to see some of you down there for a chat/beer. :-)
Still awaiting the new website which will have all the info, prices, pics etc. But for now you can continue to follow progress through social media.

Just seen the prices on the automirage site - OMG.
120k for a ore built, that's a mint matching numbers s1 e-type! Or a very nice 1950's merc 190sl.
Compared to a factory built ultima or a XCS cobra which are at the top of the kit car tree this sounds expensive, it doesn't even have m3 running gear.
The kit prices are also eye watering. If it was possible to put this on the road for a similar price to a hawk 289 or even a stratos replica then that would be ok, £25-30k, but you can't even get the chassis and body for that.
Also, this Looks enough like the original it is based on there are a number of countries in Europe where you would be gambling just driving it there.
Wish the makers all the best but not sure this is that special to warrant the prices and will put off 99.9% of potential kit builders who are considering a cobra replica, the largest potential market imo.

After talking with the guys on the stand at Stoneleigh yesterday it loooks like £50K built plus paint IVA etc. So about £60K on the road. Not cheap but it looks like a well finished kit with everything supplied from the factory except engine, box and diff (which are BMW).
My biggest worry is resale value, don't want to spend £60K for it to be worth £30K.

Interesting, still expensive but more like it. This is where I got the prices from.

I spent some time on the stand and to say I was impressed is an understatement. The car was absolutely stunning and the family were very professional in the way they kept the car roped off and only allowed those on who were interested.
I was invited to go for a test drive as one would expect when it is IVA passed, no issue on that front.
Yes it is expensive, but when you compare a top spec Cobra or an Ultima, then it makes sense for something that will be useable in all conditions and when people will spend £30 k on a Westfield, or higher on a Caterham then it looks even better.
I suspect it will not be an easy build hence the big difference between £50k self built and from £120k turnkey.
I did look at the Tribute one elsewhere, which is a body kit on a Z3 base and they had cheekily painted it the same as the Auto Mirage one. It looked okay for a fraction of the price, but that would be like comparing a Yugo with Rolls, night and day difference.
I think it will be like the Chesil or Suffolk Jaguars, which hold their value as there will not be that many built and those that are will be well built.

At last year's Silverstone Classic, the organisers had rather cruelly placed the MEV Replicar immediately opposite the AS Motorsports DB3S replica, so that you could literally compare the one against the other. The poor old MEV looked very shonky indeed in such company!
Also had a very good look around the car at Stoneleigh on Sunday.
I'm a massive stickler that replicas must be done right. The car is beyond expectations, truly stunning. visually perfect and exuded quality too. Interestingly gave me a lasting deep sense of want even now - this has not happened with any kit. I spend my days as an engineer at a luxury car manufacturer and I was impressed.
At 120k factory built, I would actually consider it good value and wouldn't feel hard done by.
To top it all, the family where extremely professional and friendly to my OH and I (She liked it as much as I did, and had more of a tour, apparently the first female to sit in it at Stoneleigh!?).

I would just like to say a massive thank you to those that came to see us at Stoneleigh and took the time to have a chat with us about the car. The car was extremely well received over the weekend, and the show was indeed a success, albeit a trial run for when we attend Goodwood Revival in September.
I appreciate the cost of both kits and turnkey cars may put it out of reach of some, and I can only apologise for that, but the car is what it is.
As some of you have spotted, the new website went live just before the start of the show. There will be more and more info added to it over the coming weeks, so all I can say is keep checking it for updates. The biggest updates to come very soon are going to be the introduction of our build video series. We are about to start filming the entire build of car number 3 in a green room so we can turn the many hours of video into short, concise and helpful build videos that will span the entire build. These videos combined with our build manual should hopefully provide all builders the support they need, but it is a simple kit to build (extremely simple compared to the Lambo Diablo replica that I built). Plus we are on the end of the phone or email if needs be.
I’m hoping to go and pick the chassis up very soon (hopefully next week), so will update the pictures on the website and also provide any detailed ones you want to see. I’d also recommend coming up to see the chassis in person, but you may as well make that visit when the first car has been registered so you can also go out for a test drive in it.
For those of you that didn’t get to the show, the chassis is our own innovatively designed multi-tubular backbone structure with additional front and rear crumple zones. The main body of the chassis is 16 gauge with sections around the engine bay in 14 gauge. The entire chassis is rotary laser cut and coded TIG welded before being shot blasted and given a 2 stage primer/powder coating. It is also symmetrical down the centre (with the exception of the front right engine bay rails) so this means we can easily supply LHD or RHD with no additional complications.
As always, thanks for the kind comments, and if you need any specific questions answered, please give us a ring, drop us an email, or ask on here and i'll try answer ASAP.
Cheers,
Matt

I 100% agree, and I would be in the exact same position if it were me buying from someone new. To say I was gutted our first production chassis wasn’t ready for the show is an understatement! I really wanted everyone to see the quality underneath, hence why we had a slightly bigger stand than we needed.I’m hoping to go and pick the chassis up very soon (hopefully next week), so will update the pictures on the website and also provide any detailed ones you want to see. If I had a Muira & A Macca F1 & a TC SS Lotus 7 in my dream garage, and a spare 6 month's then maybe I'd think about it at ~ £30K all in for a self build, Build would be relatively easy for an experienced Kit Builder - however for the prices being quoted it was way way OTT IMO. Proportions looked wrong especially from lower rear, I seem to recall the original 250's having a much less fat ass!!
Colour was OK but didn't really show the lines very well IMO, again other's will dis-agree.
But then copy's of 60's originals really ain't my thing And with the 3 originals listed above in my garage, would I really want one?
Be interesting who will buy it?

Stunning, stunning car. No need for apology on price. Very niche yes, numbers very low yes - single figures per year, exclusivity very high.
What's your alternative? A sacrificial 250 GTE rebodied a la Chris Evans replica 250 SWB GT which sold for £600k at auction? Or next step a few million for the real thing...
I suspect they already know post show they're onto a winner
@spaximus I think you may yet see a few more in that "Sterling Moss" livery!
One question to Matt - does the kit include the right door handles?
