Exclusive pics of the Python!
Discussion
I have recently been to see John Watson, who is finishing the prototype Python. As you can see from the pics, the contrasting blue stripe makes the car look impressive. What you can't see is the Halibrand wheels. The cockpit is tight, but as I know very little about Cobra's and I am over 6', I guess this is fairly normal. The build looks good, with a good panel fit.
I couldn't drive it as I didn't have time and it is yet to be SVA'd, but it started fine and sounds very throaty.
It will be on show at Donnington.

What you can't see is there is a seven at the back and he also has another garage (where the 5exi is hidden).
I'm very surprised at the lack of comments about the car. . . . . . .
As I've said, I know very little about Cobra's. I have had a fair look around the car and might be able to answer anyones questions.
Has no one got an opinion?

Don't know much about cobra reps but it looks good, particularly the different paint/stripe combo.
Are those the exhausts poking through the fenders, if so that's a nice touch.
I like the ali clocks and some sort of TVResq ali panel with red buttons? Can you post any more pics showing a touch more interior?
Only criticism would be a personal preference for single roll over hoops.
Is there a web site showing more detail/build diary etc?
All in all a fine looking kit and great effort.

I'm sure they have, but some of them are banned!
Personally, I think it looks like a typical Dr Watson build..... ie done with meticulous care. Will enjoy having a good close look at Donington.
Whilst I agree about the exhaust pipe looking neat at the rear.... A fake snake just doesn't look right without HUGE side pipes!
Edited to add
I imagine that steering wheel is only there until SVA has been passed!

The exhaust runs under the car. With the sound it makes I would guess the side pipes would make it deafening.
The discs at the end of the bumper are the reflectors.
The steering wheel is still the original BMW one. There is a 13" wheel waiting to go on.
As for the interior, the cream leather door panels are waiting to be fitted. The car is also off to a local company to get the last of the (Red) interior carpet fitted today.
I didn't think it right to show pictures of this.
The red paintwork is Gelcoat. And looks good quality.
Only got a couple more pics.

No.
If people want to email Vince, I can give his email address, but that's as far as it goes.
Both Vince and Den know I have nothing to gain from posting on here, both are aware of the thread, both have emailed me and both are happy the posting is neutral.
edited 'cause I can't spell

Hello people.
I'm new here but a regular poster on the Cobra club forum and a builder of Cobra replicas (professionally)
I think the colours are "Brave" to say the least, I think that the "New kid on the block" should have played safe and gone for the usual (Should I sayTypical) Blue with white stripes. I know from experience that the blue and white scheme is by far the best selling and when you are launching a new product you need as many orders as you can get.
I also notice that the backs of the seats are rather high up, if these are a std. Cobra style bucket seat there could be problems fitting a tall person into this car and them being able to see through the screen rather than over it.
I'll be at exhibiting at Donnington so if i have time I'll pop over and have a look.
The BMW running gear sounds like a refreshing change.
