I found some info on the web on the GTM Coupe, but wonder if any of you guys has first hand experience on this car , driving and mantaining it.

Very nice classic design, a Smart Roadster of the 70's !!!

Can You stil Find a new Kit? prices? any styling updates to the original design? where can you find one?

How big is the interior?

Thanks for your help

My uncle is finishing off a project he bought a while back, not the later Coupe but it's forerunner the GTM Cox. www.longbridge.nl/showroom/auto/gtm/gtm-cox.html.

It has a steel floorpan bonded into the fibreglass body (which is allegedly unstressed). Mid mounted A-Series engine using the front subframe from a mini. (uncles has a tuned Metro Turbo engine).

No longer made as far as I know, but spares are certainly still available through the owners club. You do see them for sale fairly often in the UK kit car magazines.

Owners club with lots of info at www.ijohnson.demon.co.uk/gtmoc/gtmoc.htm

thanks for the info

It says on the GTM owners club that PRIMO DESIGN supplies kits.

Do you know anything about it? new kits or just parts and spares?

Difference between the Cox and Coupe?

Cheers

Has address and phone number for Primo. They contacted Madabout about a year ago so not sure if contact information is still current.

Sorry, I've been on £1500 worth of training and assesment.

I suppose I might be the one to ask, I did have one up until halfway through building my Libra.

Mail me some questions Italo....

In the meantime I've trawled my archives for this picture I took circa.1983 of the GTM stand in the old cattle sheds at Stoneleigh. It shows how the subframes, steel tub and unstressed body fit together.

Great picture Ferg

I will e-mail with the list of questions, but do you know if someone is still manufacturing this Kit? who has the moulds ?

But most important of all, how does it drive and how is the interior space?

Thanks again Ferg

As has already been written the 'rights' for the car were purchased from GTM by Primo Designs run by Peter Leslie, an owner.
Whether the moulds ever left GTM I don't know, but I believe some Coupes have got past the hurdle of SVA.

When I get a minute I'll answer your e-mail. I am currently removing a mailworm...
