How about a Smart roadster replica?

COMARTH, a Spanish specialist car manufacture with a car, the x-tamy, clearly inspired by the smart roadster but with a larger engine.

Nice pictures and great idea for the kitcar industry, but the prices are not!!!

is there a way to translate that into English? What sort of prices are they?

It looks quite good IMHO.

It might be inspired by the Smart Roadster, but a Smart looks groovy, and this is bloody horrible.

All IMHO obviously.

Spanish is similar to Italian , and for what I understand this car will be distributed in the UK by : SOVEREIGN CAR SALES. I have no idea where they are.

Price are for the: xtamy 34,900 EURO, converting that into Pounds about 23,000.

for the :xtamy racing about 27,000 pounds.

I hope my conversion rate is close!!!

i like it - its looks are quirky enough to appeal to me. certainly puts the smart roadster in the shade, the proportions are good and it looks right from all angles. IM humble O.

but 27k? i wouldnt mind making a replica though

Way better looking than the Smart, with the added advantage of no stupid tailipes that waggle up and down as you accelerate.

Price is totaly unrealistic though, who would buy one of these when you could have a Libra and lots of cash spare afterwards.

I've just been back to check...are we looking at the same thing? the XTammy???

The front end reminds me of that Dax Kamala thing, the duck billed plattipus look-a-like thing.

I'll give you the interior looks interesting, but there's no way those windows on the side are going to work.

And the back's no beauty is it.

I know beauty is in the eye and all that, and I applaud the effort, but come on guys!

I went back to the site and noticed that you could get the S1 X-OLY for about 12,600 to 14,000 pounds on the road.

The design is simpler, with a smaller capacity 1,4 to 1,6 liter engine, 90 to 105CV.

I'm trying to figure out what engines they are using, I'm guessing Renault or Peugeot, but could be wrong.

My guess was wrong, they are Ford engines.

They did hire a professional designer for the x-tamy. I like a lot the interior of the xtamy, the exterior is clearly influenced by the smart roadster design .

Tried to see the video, but couldn't, anyone tried ?

I read somewhere that they were trying to raise money to manufacture the car in the UK?.

They did find a US importer though, and it seems it's getting good reviews from the press.

Just wondering if it will sell in the US..
