"In general, if a vehicle is required to have a seat belt, then all seat belts which are fitted must meet either the British or European Standards, or equivalents, set out in C&U#Regulation 47. They must be correctly installed, in good working order and must display an approval mark - this will normally be an 'e' or 'E' followed by a number or a BS 'kitemark'."

I got that quote of the DOT website, My question is what do they mean with "equivalents"? I want to fit a set of Simpson harnessesin my Cobra relica and seeing they arnt UK/EU spec but are ok in the US, I think that makes them Ok..
Or can somebody point me in the right direction for info of what constitutes "equivalents"

The SVA regs (available at the top of the forum) quote equivalent standards for enhanced SVA. I would assume that these could be regarded as equivalent for other purposes?
