i am looking for resources on the net or anywhere else for that matter for gearbox and differential ratios.

I am trying to find the diff ratio for the ford mtx75 transverse box. and also the ratios for teh common type of differential, ford, bmw, landrover freelander, japanese cars as well.

i have a plan as to what drivetrain i want to put in my new design but need the ratios inorder to sort it out.

i think it would be useful as well for fellow car builders to have resource of ratio information, i can put the information on my website so that it can be easy to find.

i hope u can help, i have emailed a couple of gearbox companies as well but no reply as of yet.

if i cant find the info on the net do you know where i might be able to find it? i have looked in the haynes manual but ratios are not usually listed!

thanks

MTX-75 is available in a variety of ratios depending on what the application is. They vary from 3.3 ish:1 to 4.06:1 depending on application.
Fortunately for you I can help..... I work on this transmission & I have all the tables of ratios at work.

e-mail me offline with the weight of vehicle, power, torque and any other details you have and I will suggest what you might consider using.

Got your e-mail. From the sound of it you would like me to design the car for you.

Go to www.fordpowerproducts.com/ where they can give you details of dealers etc who will have the technical information.

In your situation I would take a Ford Escape / Maverick and make the running gear fit your spaceframe.

Much of the information you wanted is confidential and I cannot give it to you, so I suggest you try the above source.

Easy there tiger, I dont believe I asked anything of the sort regarding you designing the vehicle for me! The only information I asked was the dimensions of the engine and gearbox, and mechanics of the gearlever.

If that contributes to designing the vehicle then I would like to see a vehicle that you have created!

Thanks for the website link, but i think i will be doing my own research from now on!!!!
