Fisher Fury 1.4 - 2.0 k-series
Discussion
I want to replace my 1.4 k-series (multipoint inj) with a 2.0 k series engine. I would prefer to use a 2.0 16 vauxhall lump, but having never done an engine change before, I presume the rover option is the easiest route to more power.
What components I would need to get from the donor vehicle, and if there's anything from the 1.4 that I can keep?
It would be If any one has any advice, or can recommend a good place to start looking for an engine that would be much appreciated!
By the way the car is a Fisher Fury, and I think it has a type 9 gearbox.
Many thanks in advance.

A change to a bigger 'K' would certainly be an easier swap than the Vauxhall. Not sure you will find a 2.0 K series at a reasonable price though - I think they have only just become available from a specialist conversion company at big bucks (can't remember the details). A 1.8 from any Rover would probably do the trick - I got mine brand new (VVC160) from Martin at Reyland Motors in Birmingham.
Make sure you get the ECU and 5AS (alarm/immobiliser with key plip) from the same car or you will have to pay extra to have them aligned. Your fuel pump will be OK as you already have a mutipoint system.
Ferg - anyone over at teamgtm.com done a 1.4-1.8 swap?
Chris.

2.0 litre K Series, otherwise known as the K2000 is available from Engine Developments rated at approximately 250bhp and 190lb/ft. Price: around £13-14,000
An alternative could be a 1.8 with a TurboTechnics Supercharger - 230bhp / 190 lb/ft. And yours for only £8,325.00 plus a non-VVC 1.8 K series.
Other routes that could yield 200bhp+ are cams, throttle bodies and aftermarket ECU. Could probably get that lot for a couple of grand on top of engine cost.

Powertrain Projects do a 2.0 K series putting out 235bhp/180lbft for the bargain basement price of £10,500 + VAT.
