Thought I'd share... Passed first time yesterday at Birmingham. Just waiting for the registration inspection next tuesday and I'll be on the road!

lol, they're anthracite 17" compomotive MO's, not the lightest but bloody strong!

I'll hopefully make Pistonfest in it too!

very, very nice and good looking car!

Any other projects after this?

I visited your website a few years ago, while looking for a porsche speedster engine conversion. Very informative and lots of info.

(I was interested on the Alfa Romeo boxer engine at the time).

What happened to the Speedster after the Subaru engine conversion? do you still have it?

My congratulations for your car.

This might seem a daft question, but where are you fitting the numberplate?

I sold the speedster to fund this project. I plan to keep this as my daily driver for a few years while I build a house which is my next project! It ended up in Jersey, strange choice of car for an island with a 40mph speed limit but he wanted it...

I'm going to make a bracket for the front number plate so the bottom of it sits just below the bottom level of the car (warning device!). I've got a 3/4 size plate so it doesn't block the air intake too much. Although, I do have a massive radiator so I should be fine, people get away with much worse..

The dash is covered in a synthetic suede, like Alcantara but apparently not so sensitive to UV for fading. All the interior trim panels are done in the same stuff and it is much cheaper than the real stuff. I paid £14 a metre for it.

Rich,

It looks great, but I can't believe you sold that lovely Speedster to build it - Herotic!

Are you still working on the independant wishbone front-end, or have you given up with V-dub projects?

:-)
It always bugged me that the speedster 'evolved' rather than done to the final spec from the beginning. I would have done a few things differently but as it was my daily driver for about 5 years it couldn't be off the road for too long at any time.

The Libra will be my daily for the forseeable future and I will try to leave it alone!

Going to build a house next, then I will finish off the VW wishbone design and build my next project: spaceframe beetle with VAG 1.8T engine, mid mounted, with lots of other unique features, but that will be a looong build.

Beautiful car. Would love to hear about your cars performance with this engine. I may get serious about this kit and a VTEC honda engine similar to your power level is what I may have in it.

I don't have the Honda engine though! Mine is a 160bhp VVC (MY02, so no head gasket worries).

I've been told it should do 0-60 in about 5.5s. I want to get to know it a bit better before I explore its limits though...
I'll be at pistonfest on sunday if you want a closer look!

Very nice car you have there! Not too keen on the interiour - it's a little bright for my tastes but the lines and the fabric look ace!

I'll spot you easy enough on Sunday then I'm in the blue Marlin Roadster from Friday.

I think there should be some sort of effort to get more kit cars featured on Carpark Catchphrase. I keep meaning to phone while driving the Quantum, but it has no aerial so I'm stuck with tapes.

Something with a killer set of multiple air horns would raise a Moyles eyebrow or two....

mmmm

I guess some people are in no hurry to get to work.

Adam, why not get to work early, listen to Moyles'y then when you get through run out to the car.

Don't forget to feature it in WK? - even if you lose
