Did anyone else who applied for the Free issue of KitCar via this forum a few months back get another free issue in the post this week? From the wording on the envelope it seems they think I'm a lapsed subscriber.

Yep.

Handy timing too as I my girlfriend's parents are getting me a subscription. I can just hand them the pre-printed cover sheet now and all the hard work's done for them.

Den was obviously feeling pretty generous this month, letting some people who have previously had a freebie have another.
The cover asking to re-subscribe is a standard cover (and obviously a hint that you should be subscribing anyway).

If Adam Wilkins is looking in: Can I have a freebie of your mag for the next 4 months to allow me to assess the feasability of taking out a subscription?

No it's not just because WK? is doing a 5exi build

I also got one...... and I managed to wangle a free copy of Which Kit at the weekend so it was very goot timing, first time I've read them in ages.

Got to say they have both improved and with the nemesis chasis now sitting in my garage I'm actually in danger of subscribing

Look at that! 2 subscriptions sold just because of a freebie or 2. Surely Adam must honour my request now?
still not heard from him

Andy, with that chassis in the garage, I'm surprised you will have any time to read anything other than the build manual (and the odd book on how to modify fibreglass bodies).

I'll let you off with the emotive (this time) as I can't get them working at the mo.

I had this happen a little while ago when I had some problems with dens company. He sent me a free copy as an apology and then three months later lo and behold another freebie.

When I asked Den about this he said it was because the only way he could get me a free copy was to put me on the subscription list with one copy left. Then their system automatically sends another copy 3 months later to say "Why haven't you renewed your subscription? Look at what your missing" sort of thing

Yep... guilt trip kicking in here also!

Which scenerio is financially better for the likes of Den? Me as a subscriber, and gets a slightly cheaper deal or me as someone who buys it monthly from a reseller, and keeps the on-the-shelf figures higher?

if anyone's not seen it and are thinking about a cobra replica .. then I'd wholeheartedly recommend getting it .. might save some costly errors with all the good info contained therein ..
full marks for a great mag

Good point actually..... Mrs Meeja has been reminding me all week that Sunday is my first "Father's Day".

I'll see if I can persuade our one year old to but me a subscription(!)

OK, you got me on that one, but don't tell Mr Wilkins the reason.

Shouldn't that be 'Which? - Kit Car'? Or would that be illegal as it blatantly uses 2 existing and established publications it has nothing to do with to make one title?

Seriously I have noticed a significant improvement in both magazines recently.

I can't see why WK? want to change their name. It's obvious they are a car mag. They have lots of pictures!
I guess it must be a tax thing?????

Was a bit this morning. Went to my local newsagent on friday to get linch and kc mag unfortunately didn't have enough for mag had forgotten my wallet so only had the change in my pocket. Not even enough for mag on it's own had this been the case I would have gone without lunch.

Anyway went this morning to pick up the mag, of which there had been 1 copy and 2 of the rival, went to the shelf but the cupboard was bare no kc and no wk? . will have to find a Smiths or something local or subscribe to avoid this happening again. But not this month funds are a little short bought new hood and got to get some road rent for the diesel family bus otherwise will get me and I'll have to see the .
