I believe to have a Salisbury (or Type E, baby atlas) live axle diff on my Rush V8. Origin unknown.
The tag shows 3.75:1.
I would like something closer to 3:1.
Anyone knows were I could get the Pinion/Crownwheel to change the ratio?

Is that one with the diff bolting in as a complete unit to the front face of the axle? Or is is one that's bolted into the axle and has a bolt-on rear cover?

If, as I suspect, it's the former, then there are a wide range of ratios available, but don't think they go as high as you're after. Might be worth contacting an old rally car breaker like The Escort Agency (www.theescortagency.net)

If it's the latter then a 2.8 Capri diff might fit, which is 3.09:1, and if it comes from the later Special it'll be LSD too.

It's the later that has a bolt-on rear cover. Thanks for the link. They don't have a suitable diff but I will keep checking.

Classic Ford magazine have a lot of specialists similar to the escort agency advertising in it. One of those should be able to help.
