Tigers, any good?
Discussion
Hi.
I'm kinda looking at getting a Tiger but have some questions.
I worry about fitting in one well enough. I'm about 6ft2in with child bearing hips. I managed to fit in a Westy at the motorshow but don't know if that was a one off thing. So which model should I go for?
I'm not very mechanically minded really. What are
these like for realiability etc?
I saw them at Autosports a couple of years ago and thought they looked ace for the money (I will have about £6-7k to spend when I get round to it) and I keep seeing one in Sandal, Wakefield in Yellow and it looks beauty.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I have a Supercat E1, it puts a smile on my face every time a drive it.
As you may guess from my user name I am no racing snake ! I fit snugly into the Tiger, I also fit snugly in a Westfield so they must be similar width.
As for being 6' 2", the guy I bought it from was also 6' 2" and he was obviously OK in it, I have moved the seat back forward a little and it now suits me fine, my 6' 4" son would be able to drive the car if he didn't have such big feet (size 13/14).
My only real criticism of the car was the remote gear linkage which has now been replaced (with some advice for this forum) with a Westfield linkage.

Hi there
Given your height I reckon the Supercat would be the one for you. I'm 5-11 and whilst my cat is fine for me, it may be a little short in the footwell for you.
Regards reliability, it's all down to the build quality. Take your time and you'll get plenty of trouble free miles. Pinto or Zetec engines are reliable enough and not especially stressed in such a light car. My Cat E1 has just passed 2000 miles and I've had nothing but minor adjustments to make.
Have a few test drives and enjoy!

Damn right they're tight - I just put the driver's seat in my S6 tonight (an Intatrim Odyssey) - very comfortable but absolutely zero room to move, and I've even taken the side panels and tunnel top off to make a bit more space to work in. With those back in place it will be very very tight indeed.
However, the car looks great so I'll forgive it!
The chap at Tiger told me the Cat and Avon are wider than the Six, although by how much I don't know.
Some people have been concerned about the quality and fit of the GRP on the Avon or Cat body mouldings, so beware of that - it seems they are most certainly not symetrical and require a decent amount of 'adjustment' or packing-out to be able to fit. In contrast my Six has fitted together with relatively few problems, although I've yet to fit the rear arches and I'm told they can be awkward.
