If I'm not mistaken that's a four speed isnt it ? Has anybody got any experience of these ?? How are Vmax, Acceleration and Fuel economy affected ??

Yes, 4 speed it is. A bit agricultural in the gear shift department (so I hear, have never actually tried one) but will handle very big torque. Top gear ratio is 1:1. I think there is a close ratio and standard version. Should be OK with American V8, especially big block. You'd need to check final drive ratio in diff and wheel size to work out mph per 1000 rpm in top gear, this will have most impact on top speed and economy. For acceleration, 4 ratios probably adequate for big lazy V8.
