Dax Rush Owners Advice?
Discussion
I´d like to know from other´s experience an estimated final price of a Dax Rush excluding engine/gearbox. If you´ve built one please give me an estimated as it´s too early in my building for a dedicated reading of the price list.
My idea is to build it with IRS, do you guys think this a better option than the DeDion from a handling perspective?
Thanks in advance.

It's a bit of an old chestnut isn't it.
I'd say you are looking at 8.5k to 9 for a basic Rush.
I am budgeting 14-15k for a tuned 4.6 V8.
If you speak with Gary at Dax (he is the test pilot(and I mean pilot not driver)) he recommends the De Dion set up over the irs. Infact they have just come up with a version for the Tojero as they like it so much. Something to do with maintaining contact area.

Well I am budgeting about 3 grand on a low milage 4.6 Rover v8 with a bit of tuning, a huge carb and performance manifold and some nice shiny bits.
Gearbox is looking like about £500 too source and tart up.
Saving money on non Dax wheels, electrics, interior
and looks like may have saved a few pennies on the exhuast.

Hi all U Rush-aholics.... . If you are building an IRS V8 with a new or trick second hand V8 expect to lay out approx £16-18K for a decent quality build including weather gear. My IRS 4.6ltr big-valve V8 cost £15.2 with an aged 3.5ltr P6 V8 which was too gutless (yes the Rush has plenty of traction) , and this up'd to £17.1K by the time I put brand new 4.6ltr with pocketed pistons, lightened / balance crank and rods, with enlarged, radius'd, and polished oilways and the VITAL BAFFLED SUMP !! Acceleration is so much that oil pull back away from the front mounted oil pump pick up strainer and can do serious naughties to the engine when doing 1/4 miles and track day antics if you don't baffle the sump. I got my engine built up and dyno'd for well under 3K by Ray Webb ("V8 Developments" , Spalding, Lincs) : Ray is an expert on V8s, a racer of V8 cars, and a lover of the Dax Rush now, and is well worth talking to : find them on the internet via any good search engine).
OutOn
If your Rush is for road use only, the IRS will be fine. If you want to use it on the track as well, go for the de dion. More fun!
Are you in a hurry with your engine?
I will change my 3.9 block against a 4.6 later this year.
The engine was prepared by V8Tuner.
I do have all the receipts from the built of the engine.
Intrested?
