I noticed on your web site that you have Sierra ventilated discs and reconditioned calipers with greenstuff pads, do you also have a servo fitted ?

My Supercat has the same spec, without the greenstuff pads, and to be honest the brakes are not great, they work but require considerable pressure for much to happen. (I do not have a servo).

Do greenstuff pads make much difference to the braking ?

BTW the Westfield gear linkage has made a big difference.

I don't have a servo fitted, just the standard master cylinder (black one which I believe is from a Fiesta). Can't say if the Greenstuff pads make a difference, as I have only ever had them! The brakes are ok and do lock the wheels (which is important!), but they do require more effort to make them work than a "normal" car. This is down to the lack of servo, but it's not a problem as the car is much lighter I think the Greenstuff pads help on trackdays as I've not suffered any fade at all.

Do you know what brake fluid you've got and how old it is? It should be changed ever 2 years. I'm currently using Castrol super DOT 4.1 which is seems very good.

One thing that did make a difference to pedal feel was upgrading the flexi brake lines to braided ones. These allow less expansion than the rubber ones and hence the the brake peddle locks the wheels sooner. An easy upgrade and only cost £10 each from Tiger. I've only done the fronts on mine.

Cheers M8

I can lock the wheels but only with what seems like a great deal of effort.

It is probably more down to driving my Impreza most of the time and not adapting to the different feel.

Seems it is me not the car.

Thanks Again
