Audi 80 sport gearbox and g60/vr6 engine

Asked this question in the Audi/VW section but no joy, so hopefully my fellow kit car owners can assist.
Converting my Pell Genesis back to car power so does anyone know if the g60 engine will mate direct to the Audi 80 gearbox.
Apart from the Peugeot MI16 unit does anyone know of any other VW/AUDI 4 pot engines or small sixes that will fit without the need for an adapter plate or bellhouse conversion to the box.
