Not a kit car - but I guess the precedent has been made with the previous mini? Sorry if I upset anyone!

Peeps.... any ideas what this is sitting in my clubman engine bay? Oh, to help.... it is front wheel drive!

What gearbox are you using with the V8?
I am using a princess gearbox. Lots of machining, drilling and tapping and calulations to get the input shaft to align with the crankshaft. I hope its all worth it!

Give that man a pint of the best!
Well done Jim. I guess you have seen one b4?

Regards,

Richie
I've a distant memory that says I've seen one before...just can't think where. More recently removed a Rover V8 from my Cobra so recognise the ports/covers.

Nice job...bet that's a hoot to drive

Jim
Hi Jim, its not finished yet..... I am now rebuilding the body shell. Replacing rotten bits and probably too many panels, bit I'm thinking it needs to be sturdy and strong. I hope to have it driveable this year tho.

Managed 25k or so in our Westy, but it's taken 18 years!!
By the time I actually crack 25k it'll have been 4 and a half years since hitting the road, so about 6k a year...

That supercharger looks very cosy in that engine bay - nice!

Nice - can you explain what going on at the manifold/exhaust for me? - not mechanically minded!

Very nice - I've now got a new Windows wallpaper !

(the gravel makes it difficult to read the text under the desktop icons though!)

It's an Eclipse SM1 - that's the prototype in the pic and it's currently the only car. Four more being made so far and one of those will be mine! smile

The parts of the exhaust manifold are the turbo which is off a 1980's F1 car and the waste gate which is for controlling the boost pressure in the turbo

I'm guessing it wouldnt' be a very clever idea to use the car in the rain ?? Surely a red hot turbo wouldnt' take kindly to cold water spray
