Please note: the car is booked in for a service and MOT at Porsche South Lakes this month, so will be sold with a fresh MOT and service and the mileage may increase slightly.

I will update the listing once complete.

Warm regards,
Rob

Hi,
The mechanical section section says the engine is fitted with the GT3 RS 4.0 crank, is that correct please?
If so, do you have any further details on the engine build.
Thanks!

The engine is the standard 3.8 GT3 engine with no modifications as it came out of the factory.
I think the PistonHeads team have lifted from somewhere that the 3.8 gen 2 GT3 Mezger engine is fitted with the same crank as the 4 litre GT3 RS from the factory.

Well spotted and sorry for the confusion! There was logic behind it but we have chosen to take it out to make it clearer.

Warm regards,
Rob

Hi David,

Really interesting car and modifications. I sent the following questions earlier directly to Rob Slom but maybe easier to post here. Are you able to advise on the following points please?

- The last service record mentions the brake pads look to have been hot and are crumbling. Have these been replaced since?
- Has the vehicle had track usage. If so, how regular has this been?
- When is the service and MOT due to happen? Will the car have a check over my Porsche with a condition report as part of this?

Thanks
Stephen

With regards to the brake pads there’s nothing wrong with them, the edges are slightly feathered but no worse than the majority of road cars.
The carbon ceramic brakes are unbelievably powerful and out of all the mods on this car compared to another standard 997.2 GT3 Clubsport I owned, they stand out as the best upgrade.
I’ve taken it on 2 track days to Oulton Park since my ownership began, once in 2022 and the other time was last year. I can’t comment on how many times previous owners have had it on track as I don’t know but given the mods I would assume it’s seen a few track days.
Who ever owned it before me has pampered the car as it’s definitely the best 997.2 GT3 I’ve ever seen and I have kept it in the same pampered condition.
It’s booked in at Porsche South Lakes next week for the service and MOT and I’ll be dropping it in with them on Monday morning.

Thanks for the quick response to my message. Really appreciate the extra info.

I was just interested about the comment of the brake pads looking like they had been very hot and started to crumble as I know from experience this can happen when ceramic brake pads get really hot. Any chance of any photos of the pads? Even if it’s just the outer pads.

How recent was the Rev range check conducted? Will this be re-checked during the service?

Many thanks

I don’t think they’ve ever been that hot certainly not during my ownership. I’ll stick some photos up.
The rev range was done in 2024 so I will ask Porsche South Lakes to do a fresh one on Monday.

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing the photos, really helpful!

If you could share the results of the new over rev check and any general condition report Porsche complete during the service, that would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again
Stephen

Hi David,

From the pictures of the brake pads i can see there are a fair few chips on the spoke edge of the wheel. I dont remember reading the car had any ppf, obvoisuly its been modified to use on track which i am sure it has seen an amount of, does the car have many stone chips etc?

Not a dig, genuine question as i would like one of these myself.

Thanks
Justin
