You know, I'm not usually a fan of garish paint jobs, but it is occasionally nice to see someone put their head above the parapet and do something silly.
Though 'silly' was probably not on the option list ?

So, if I could afford it. I would, not buy !

One of the things that makes PistonHeads Auctions unique is the open discussion around each listing and we really value the input and experience the community brings.

To keep things useful for all potential buyers, we just ask that comments stay focused on facts, direct questions, or personal experience that helps others build a clear picture of the car.

For those who want to dig deeper, every listing includes a detailed write-up, extensive photos, and the option to Arrange a Viewing. All designed to give maximum transparency and confidence.

This space works best when comments stay focused on specifics, questions, or relevant insight, not speculation or assumption.
Thanks again for engaging constructively.

I think the steering rack gator needed repairing sooner, the damage now may be significant, and they cost a lot.

The gaiter was previously an MOT advisory that Bentley hadn’t even snagged on its annual service. I wasn’t aware of the advisory as I never read the paperwork. The car did 500 miles in a year after, which was up to Silverstone & back and to Donington Park & back - when going to watch racing. Just to give the car a couple of nice runs, and obviously motorway miles. The only reason the gaiters were changed was as soon as I was aware one was an advisory for a future change I immediately wanted a clear MOT and had both done.
Had Bentley then seen any problems when changing these gaiters (and then of course setting the steering up again afterwards) we can surely safely assume any slightest issue would have brought to my attention.
The car has been maintained each and every year to the highest level by Bentley. It has been over serviced - check the annual records. I paid for annual warranty each year until I couldn’t anymore (2 services ago).
Hopefully anyone serious about buying such a rare example of this marque will agree that there is clearly nothing wrong with the steering.
The car drives perfectly.

Hi, Is there a health check record ? as in which shows life left in the brake pads/discs as these cars come with ceramic discs and replacing one is not cheap..
Also, it says an aftermarket exhaust was fitted. was that by Bentley and if yes, which one please ?

Hi. The car was just serviced again, only a few hundred miles after the previous service a year ago. I’ve had Bentley service each year since I bought it 9 1/2 years ago. I have never changed the brakes but can add the vast majority of miles I’ve ever done have been motorway miles, with the rest being the 10 minute drive to the motorway. The car stops very well. I was informed that the discs are (were) the biggest discs on any production car. It’s a heavy car, but its braking is therefore made excellent.
The sports exhaust was Bentley fitted at new, which is shown on the long list of options when originally purchased. The exhaust isn’t loud. I was surprised it has stated as a sports exhaust option.

For me the only "absolutely not, no" feature is the yellow dash inserts. Replace those with engine-turned aluminium or one of the more-usual veneer panels and I'd happily find a place for it

Hi,

Is there a stamped service book? Were the services prior to your ownership also at Bentley main dealers?

Thanks

Hello.
Well spotted. Apologies. The Dealer Service Book was still in its slot in the car glove box, not in the car folder file, so was not given to the photographer. I only gave him my car documents folder. I have now photographed the Service Book pages and sent them to David at Piston Heads. Hopefully he can add them to the Documents photos.
In the meantime, here is the full list.

07Jun11 - Bentley Crewe - 00027 miles.

23Dec11 - Bentley Essex Colchester - 001465 miles.

07Dec12 - Bentley Manchester - 007812 miles.

Kind regards.
