If anyone has any questions please pop them below I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

I can also accommodate anyone wanting to view the car, and even take you on a short journey so you can see how it drives (Weather permitting)

Hello folks,

Thought I’d let you know that the car is having its second oil and filter change this year on Saturday - just in time for the new buyer. It isn’t essential due to the lack of miles this year but it will be another thing ticked off the list ready to be enjoyed.

It has a Pipercross (panel) air filter which is in perfect condition too.

Happy bidding.

Hi there,

In the photos the roll-over looks quite gappy and ill-fitting - can you tell me what's going on there?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

I think the photos are making it seem more noticeable than it is as I have never really paid a huge amount of attention to it. However on the interior it looks like there is some left over residue where lotus may have used a segment of sticky back padding to cover over the gap in the first place as it would never be flush with the mating piece.

It may just well be the symptom of a near 25 year old car having the roof taken on and off over again - as it is fiberglass after all.

Thanks
George

Hi,
Could you tell me how the dampers feel on the road?
Does it still handle well?

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks very much for your interest.

Yes, it absolutely does — and it’s a night-and-day improvement since the original 23-year-old Bilsteins were replaced.

I was initially a bit concerned the new setup might be too firm for road use, but with 24 levels of adjustability, it’s incredibly versatile. Even before the alignment was completed, the difference was remarkable — it went from being quite harsh on the old shocks to genuinely compliant and composed in every driving situation.

Suspension setup details (as shown in the photos):

Front: 475lb springs with 150lb helpers

Rear: 550lb springs with 250lb helpers

These rates were recommended by Elise Parts for a fast road setup, and they really hit the sweet spot — perfect for spirited driving yet comfortable enough for everyday use. The adjustable bump/rebound and ride height (professionally set up by a specialist) make it easy to fine-tune to personal preference.

The ride isn’t crashy at all — just beautifully balanced. You can dial it in for a smooth, compliant drive or firm it up to feel every detail of the road when enjoying a proper B-road blast.

Good luck!
