Did this not sell in the end?
This phenomenal car is still available for purchase prior to auction or via live auction. The reserve is sensible, taking into the consideration the cars general overall excellent condition.
There are now added images of the underside of the car which we did not have first time round, showing how well maintained this car is.
Coupled with the fact this is one of the only E60 M5's available today with BMW Manufacturer warranty, means this is super special !
Good luck everyone
Dave/owner, there is a proviso with that Extended Warranty Extension. Just called BMW and the owner has to cancel, as per that letter, and new owner can get a quote. The quote now is close to double at £1902 for the new owner, Comp with £250 Excess. When owner started this policy they were quoted on 59000 miles, but now it’s 81000. So it’s not transferable on same terms. Will bid with that in mind..
I am currently paying £1337 per year for the warranty with £100 excess so the quote you have been given is not double it is around £560 more per year. Maybe I am getting a little loyalty discount having been paying this for the past 15 years to maintain the car. I have all the BMW warranty paperwork to show the amount being paid and the cover.
Hi maura
There is no significant oil leak on the gearbox, the tech advised there was a slight misting of oil but not a leak. There are no oil drips under the car when parked and no significant signs under the car. If the leak was significant this would have been changed under the warranty as the rear driveshaft oil seals have been. I was aware pf the rear discs having some scoring but this was not bad enough to need them replacing immediately. The pads still have plenty of life on them and the car brakes fine so these would have been replaced on the next pad change which is currently showing on the idrive as being required in 15000 miles. The front discs and pads have been changed and these are showing next change in 39000 miles. The active seat bolsters are working fine on both seats. As far as i am aware everything on the car is working as it should.

Mark, thanks for the replies. With the same £100 excess instead of £250, the premium is £2240. You can’t transfer the £111.47 monthly, it’s a new agreement, if you read last paragraph in the letter, says policy has to be cancelled if car is sold. Can all be done same day but it’s a new quote agreement for new owner.
I wasn’t aware of that. In my opinion the way to go would be taking the warranty with the £250 excess. I have always used the warranty to my advantage as in the excess is per claim so if something minor has gone wrong and it has not affected the car for example the air con radiator I have left this until something else needed doing so only 1 excess to pay for several repairs.

Monthly BMW warranty cannot be transferred to a new owner:BMW Warranty Policy handbook said:
5. For annual policies only and provided that a refund has not been claimed, any
balance of your BMW Insured Warranty remaining may be transferred to another
private owner, subject to our approval, who buys your vehicle from you but not to
a buyer engaged in the business of purchasing, selling or servicing motor
vehicles.
Monthly policies are not transferable.
BMW Insured Warranty cover is not transferable to you from a motor retailer.

So while it may currently be under BMW extended warranty, it cannot be transferred to the new owner, the new owner will need to take out a new quote. And being that is it over 60,000 miles, and will lose any applicable 'no claims' discount as a new policy, it won't be cheap.
The ad mentions the car will be sold with bmw warranty, however the fine print of warranty it is not transferable. The new owner will have take a new policy out considering mileage is 80k it will not be be same price currently. Also the I've noticed the front bonnet has fair few stones chips.
Most commentators on here seem to be focusing on the issue of the warranty not being simply transferrable but the seller hasn’t advertised that it is. The more important fact in my view is that this 20 year old performance car has a BMW warranty and always has had so if anything was wrong it would have been fixed. That’s a huge plus point!!
Until it hits 100k miles, which is not far off and no BMW Warranty is available anymore. Yes it’s advertised with BMW Warranty, but has been covered that this owner has a great deal but new owner has to deide on the £2k additional cost. Me, no way running a E60 M5 V10 without a comprehensive Warranty, and have bid knowing £2k needs to be added.
