Hi Irfan
I have not had the rod bearings done because the car is still under BMW warranty and this covers upto the purchase price of the car per claim. I have asked the techs. at BMW to check the oil on each oil change to look for any metallic particles and they have not reported any issues. The warranty can be taken over by the new owner if desired.
Thanks
Mark

Can a BMW that is so old still be under a manufacturer’s warranty? Didn’t know that.

Hi
Yes providing the warranty has not lapsed from new it can be continued. I bought the car with the BMW warranty and have kept it covered over my 15 years of ownership.
