Surely there is a mistake in the blurb - as it reads that there was a 5 year gap in servicing until this year?

Hi, I am currently waiting for someone to figure out a problem with the computer system at the garage to retrieve some missing records
Basically when I removed the personal reg from the Alpina and put it on another vehicle , the records became associated with the other vehicle. All a bit confusing but hopefully will be sorted out early next week.
That having said , I believe there’s just a couple of small services to add because of the low mileage from 2020 (around 6500miles) to present, carried out as advised on the cars system computer.

Lovely car. Just to clarify, does it have a full service history? Is a service due on it now due to lack of use recently? Many thanks.

Thank you, it’s been great to own. Only reason we’re selling it is because we sold our house in France a couple of years ago and just don’t have the use for it it any more.
I have always followed the service advisories as they’ve appeared on the dashboard ( it gives a countdown from 3500 miles to due as i recall). I’m afraid I didn’t do the ‘annual, no matter what the mileage’ regime , so I guess it comes down to what is regarded as a ‘full’ service history .
The Alpina has just recently had a service along with mot at the end of July , also an AC service and regas.
We took it up to the annual pistonheads event last Saturday which was the longest journey it had had in a while and everything was working exactly as it should and drove just as well as I remembered.

Hi,
I asked to view the car through the the website is there any chance to come and see the car?
Has the car been smoked in - during your ownership?
Could you let me know the road tax - is it now £760?
No accidents?
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex , were you coming from Winchester? If so I replied yesterday evening… sorry if it didn’t get to you.
Tuesday afternoon will be fine but I won’t be back home until 2.30 pm , would that be ok with you ?

Hi. Any rust around the tops of the doors, common with this era of 5 Series? Any close up pictures of around the tops of the doors below the window line would be brilliant. Also any update on service history? Thanks

I’ll post some pictures of the door tops tomorrow but I can confidently say there’s no sign of rust anywhere.
The service history records should be sorted this week when the IT guy returns from leave

Thanks, any oil consumption, timing chain wear, issues with turbo or valve stems?

None that have been brought to my attention. I don’t get involved with the mechanics personally. As I recall , I’ve had to top up the oil once in between services during my ownership.

Hi , in my ownership there was a rear bumper O/S paintwork repair done in 2018 , I think, after a van had a light impact with it. The work was carried out via the insurance company and to an excellent standard
Yes , the weld on the wheel has been professionally completed. It was a very faint hairline , identified during the mot, and didn’t result in loss of tyre pressure.

My apologies to Squirejo … I posted replies to this question and uploaded photos of the request for pictures of the door tops some days ago but they appear to have not uploaded onto the forum.
I will supply the date codes tomorrow for the tyres , but from memory both front tyres were approx 8mm and both rears were approx 6mm
The mismatched tyre was a result of no stock of the Michelins being available at the time. When the Alpina goes to its new owner it will have Michelins on all four corner and the mismatched tyre in the boot as a spare in case the same situation arises.
I will try again with the door top pictures now.

Hi, have you had the air suspension serviced?
Does the vehicle suffer with the headlight clouding?
Have you had the thermostat and water pump changed?
Have you had the supercharger and timing guides inspected under your ownership?
Many thanks

I see the photos of the door tops still haven’t been uploaded …
Anneteak, if you’re still interested please send a viewing request so I can send them directly. I can confirm though, there is no sign of corrosion.
