Has the rear sub-frame been checked / replaced?

Your car appears to have the later gearbox that I understood to be introduced with the 2006 / 7 facelift model.
I’m probably missing something obvious but would be grateful if you could clarify.

Not sure why a 2005 model would have a 2006/7 gearbox.
What makes you think that is so?

It has a later steering wheel with flappy paddles which came with the uprated facelift gearbox. Could be that it was fitted by a previous owner?
The ‘04/05 cars had gear change buttons behind the steering wheel. See other 2005 slk 55 ad’s on PistonHeads.

Hi Mike, subframe is fine, age related corrosion been oiled over

In June 2024 all pads and disks were changed, but the Brake Wear Visit Workshop message is on, how can that be? Also do you have the answer for the steering wheel change?

HI mate,
The wear sensor was not up to standard so was replaced. No light or warning now on.
The gearbox upgrade is not anywhere in the vehicle history. I`m awaiting the original owners reply regarding this.

Thanks. I don’t think the gearbox has been changed just the retrofit of the Paddles which is quite common from companies such as commandonline.com. It’s the 2005 wheel with paddles retrofitted not the newer steering wheel and gearbox. But let’s see previous owner response.

How do you find the paddles, less smooth than the auto box D?

Hardly used the paddles JJ, always are a bit less smoother than D but the auto change is really slick.

Hi, can you please comment on the extent of the stone chips and scratches? The bonnet and front spoiler show quite a few, some look large, but could be debris on the car when the photos were taken, which are not that clear.
Have any of the cars panels been resprayed?
Also there appears to be a crack/damage to the front spoiler, can you please comment?

Hello, just looked at the MOT data for the car and noticed it had a mileage roll back between 2012 and 2013. Why is it showing that and is there any discrepancies that are worth knowing.
