Hi,
I know race cars have a hard life, but as this is a spec car/engine (& so low miles @ 3k) why did it need engine and clutch replacing; because of a crash?

Hi,

The car has not been crashed.
The original engine had a broken con rod. It was more cost effective to install a new engine , and fit a new clutch while the engine was being changed.
This car hasn’t had a hard life, this can be seen by the condition of the whole vehicle. The majority of the miles are track days, although it has raced in a number of event's.

Suprised it broke a con rod at such low miles, unless over revved when not broken in properly?

I am the 2nd owner.

“Although never driven in any competition series by its current owner”

Engines break while on track, it needed a new engine which it now has.

I've always quietly fancied one of these! Whilst I'm not in a position to buy it just now (unless you're in the market for a filthy B7 RS4...) I would love to have a little look! Its a complete waste of your time so by all means ignore this, but I'm just up the road in Hurstpierpoint so if you happened to be about on Sunday and had a spare half an hour...
