Hi,
Ad says that the vendor will be servicing the car before sale, but it also says you’re a private seller - is it a home service or a specialist, and if the latter, who is it?
Thanks

Is the metallic green the original factory colour when the car was delivered new?
Does the colour code reflect this for possible future body shop work?
At what mileage was the clutch replaced?

The car and all the extras are all factory OEM. The colour is a factory colour too and looks amazing in the light.

I will need to check the history as the car is at the garage atm awaiting some works and MOT prior to the lucky buyer collecting

When were the rear lights upgraded to the 997.2 versions? We're there done professionally.
Are there any other alterations or upgrades completed to the car?
Has the IMS bearing being upgraded?
Has the car been bore scored recently? If not would you be willing to have that completed before the auction ends and show results?
Many thanks
Steve

The lights were upgraded a few years ago. The advert doesn't say it, but, I have the original lights too and will be part of the sale. They were done professionally.

IMS and bore score are a no but I will check. Please remember that this is a 2006 car and also a 3.8 (NOT a 3.6)

"Late 2005 it was updated to a larger IMS with a significantly lower failure rate- practically a non issue. Cars built after Feb 20, 2005 have the updated IMS"

"Even if you "had the IMS problem" it is massively, massively, massively overblown. The WORST cars had a 7% failure rate, meaning there was a 93% chance your car was totally fine. The later in production you get the better those numbers get. In addition you're talking about a 17 year old car - if it was going to fail it would have failed by now."

There are definitely instances of bore scoring on 2006 and 2007 cars, just look on ebay (and I believe this was made in 2005), would you consider a clean bore score inspection as a condition of sale?

UPDATE:

all the works on the car have been complete and we are just waiting on Porsche to deliver the coolant hoses which would mean the car should be finished and MOT'd tomorrow.

BORE SCORE: this is a 2006 car with a 3.8L engine. so this shouldn't be an issue. however i have asked my garage carrying out all the works to see if they can fit this check in before the sale. the car presents with no issues of bore scoring. these are:

Audible Tick.
Increase in Oil Consumption.
Sooty Tailpipes.
Soot in the Engine Oil.
Oily/Sooty Bumper Cover.
Cylinder Misfires.

Really is a very lovely looking motor. And with that repair bill, I'd say the lucky buyer will be getting a really cracking car. Looks superb, and given the repairs, a fresh MOT.. I'd say given all the answers you've provided, that you'll end up with a very fair price for the car and the buyer something quite unique in the colour and spec combo.
