Yeah, it's not very pretty is it! I'd much rather have an unbastardised model. I wonder how much the kit devalues it by!
If this was unmolested, it'd probably fetch low £20's, maybe high teens. It doesn't help that the early 6 speed auto wasn't a sports car gearbox whatsoever. With those modifications, my money would be on £15k at the absolute maximum, and I wouldn't be surprised if it went for closer to £10k. Maybe a road construction company will snap it up as a heavy road roller...

Is Mat Armstrong a YouTube star?
Depends on your definition of 'star' I guess. For me calling him a star is stretching it however, I do enjoy his videos mainly for his enthusiasm for what he does and to see how far he can take it, so far he is doing very well and appears to be going some way to securing his and his girlfriends future financially. He has houses he rents out, has two currently that he resides at, with a lot of work being undertaken on the newer one he has recently bought. Good luck to him, he is young, enthusiastic and has some talent for making entertaining video's, not everyone's cup of tea but thats true for everyone in the public eye.
As to the Mustang being offered here, it's not a looker, his cars usually come with some prior damage that has been repaired but the insurance have categorised as a write off so insurance may be an issue for some.

Thank you for your comments .. I think you are right 3.3m subscribers means he's doing pretty well in the world of you tube and cars !Good luck to him, he is young, enthusiastic and has some talent for making entertaining video's, not everyone's cup of tea but thats true for everyone in the public eye.

As for the Mustang, it does not have any prior damage repair nor has it been previously written off. This is mentioned by in one of the videos. We wouldn't have considered consignment if we felt it had a past history of serious damage. We know it is not everyones cup of tea but it can't be denied there is a huge following for modifications like this, and plenty of interest.
Good luck everyone and happy bidding

Does anyone have the faintest idea what the reserve is set at ?
Hi NicholasThank you so much for your interest and current bids on the car. We do not show the reserve and ask buyers to bid up to a value they deem suitable for a fantastic car like this to be worth. The reserve indicator will inform you when you are close to meeting the reserve and thus owning the car.
The reserve has been set at a value that reflects a Mustang 5.0 GT of this age and mileage, before the £000's of pounds that this car has had in modifications to make it unique.
good luck with the rest of the auction

Having modified and sold many cars over the last 30 years I know that approach does not work. Most modifications will devalue a stock car unless they are standard performance enhancements and reversible. These clearly aren't so your starting point is clearly flawed. And they definitely know this, because they wrote an article fetishing an unmolested R34 GTR only yesterday. Having watched a family member struggle to sell a bone stock Mustang in this colour with a manual box, there's no chance this is going to sell without a very generous reserve price. To me the whole notion of a reserve is a waste of time. Just start the bidding at the minimum price. Nobody is getting carried away by a butchered slushbox Mustang. Save the hidden reserves for a 911 GT3 RS or something...
