Hi,

I am sorry but I do not have any pictures of the underside but I am fully aware that the sub-frames and linkages do have evidence of surface corrosion.

As mentioned in the write-up, the car is booked in with Demon Performance Centre in Middlewich, Cheshire to have an underside restoration carried out. The commencement of this work is Monday 9th December 2024 and this booking can be transferred to the new owner, if required. A £500 deposit has already been paid and the cost of the work is likely to cost £2000 upwards, depending on how much needs doing, this minus the deposit already paid. If the car sells, I will leave the choice to the new owner whether or not they wish to retain the booking, but Demon Performance do have a 12 month waiting list for this service.

Hi,

Looks a good, honest and still useable example.

Is there any reason why the first service isn't in the book, yet there's an invoice for a service in 2012 that was 2 years from registration? Did the original service book go missing?

In terms of surface corrosion to the sub-frame and arms, is there much to report from the arches and sills for example, especially around jacking points?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Regarding the service history, I believe that the first service was carried out in 2012 at around 10,000 miles. This is purely an assumption based on the information I have from the previous owner. The book, it would appear, was not stamped on that occasion but I cannot presume why. I know from my own experience that Ford did not always stamp the book by default and I have had to explicitly request them to do so.

There is certainly no corrosion around the arches however, there is some damage to the jacking points. I have just taken photos of each which i will try to upload here…

Hi all,

Regarding the condition of the underside of the car, I would just like to add and reassure everyone that the restoration work with Demon Performance Centre has been booked in purely as a precautionary measure and not due to necessity. Thanks

Hi
What happened to the servicing from March 2019 to October 2023 as it doesn’t mention it in the write up?
Cheers

Hi Gary,
The car has been serviced every year. Please take a look at the Documents section of the pictures where you will find the invoices for all services. I’m afraid that Ford do not automatically stamp the book even though it has always been presented for them to do so.
Cheers

Thanks I’ve seen all them now, but I’d be tempted to ask them to provide you with a copy service book fully stamped as it’s the same dealership, sloppy on their part and it leaves you having to explain every time.
I there a reserve on this auction?

Yes it is very frustrating. If the car does not sell, I may well do that.

Yes there is a reserve and we are very close to it.
