Craig Breen dies in testing accident
Discussion
From other websites it appears he hit a post whilst testing for the upcoming Croatia rally.
As ever when something like this happens, it's a shock and a tragic waste of a great talent from someone who so clearly enjoyed what he was doing.
His co driver is unharmed, but no doubt will be traumatised.
Such a shame all round.
Those WRC cars are too fast?

You cannot say a lot can you, other than he was probably doing something he loved, the sad bit is he was very into his sport and also was great at doing events all over the place and doing historic stuff back home, a big loss, and we do seem to suffer greatly with losing people in rallies, about time the luck changed!
Absolutely unbelievable. Utterly, utterly tragic.
A mere 33 years of age and one of the most humble and genuine driver’s in the WRC.
As others have said, his post stage interviews were a joy to watch, his emotions clear to see for all, and his appreciation of the fact he had the opportunity to drive the best cars, on the best stages, at the sport’s highest level, was inspirational.
RIP with Gareth Roberts by your side in the passenger seat. You’ll be hugely missed.
I'm very upset.
All my social media is full with messages of remembrance and I can't even look at them, just too upsetting.
I was really looking forward to Croatia to see what he could do!
Just a lovely nice lad, full of love for rallying in all its' forms.
He was one of us and a fellow countrymen. Absolutely heartbroken.

So feckin sad . Craig was passionate about his rallying be it WRC or club events , he just loved getting involved. With his success he was able and willing to give back to grassroots competitors via sponsorship and tuition. A fine ambassador for Irish rallying and a genuinely good guy to boot . RIP Craig
