BrotherMouzone, or YK as he was also known, passed away on the 1st of May 2023.
He had a short battle with acute liver cancer.
His funeral will be held on Monday 5th June, 11:30, at Great Glen Crematorium, Leicester. If you intend on attending please let his sister Hilz know via the Facebook group his family have set up for friends to add memories to.
Here’s what I posted in the Facebook group:
Dear all of YK’s friends and family.
I’d like to start this message with how sorry I am to read of YK’s passing. However, reading the messages already posted in this group has given me happiness.
YK and I first met around 10 years ago through Pistonheads. I had recently become a Trainee Train Driver - he was interested in the job and asked if we could meet up. He suggested he’d take me for a pint and some food and in return I’d give him all the information I had. I must admit, this was the first time I’d been asked out by a bloke. But hey, pints and food.
When we met YK was a gent, a theme that continues later on.
A few months passed and he messaged me to say he had secured a new job as a Trainee Train Driver too! He was overjoyed, excited and incredibly thankful for the information I had apparently passed on between burps from the beers and grunting in between the mouthfuls of food. In reality he had done all the hard work, but again he was a gent and unduly modest.
Fast forward a few years and I receive a message out the blue from YK. He’ll ‘be in the area soon’ with his car we could all be excited by - his 996.2 GT3. Well, when I say soon - he meant the next day! YK popped by and I cheekily asked if I could sit in the driver’s seat (hoping he’d take me out in it as a passenger). His reply, as ever, was generous and kind - ‘why don’t you drive it instead?’ I was made up by the end of the road, let alone the rest of the drive, a drive I’ll never forget. Whenever I see a GT3 I think him and am reminded of the gent we were all blessed to know in one way or another.
Rest easy, brother.
RIP YK.
