drivin_me_nuts RIP & Funeral Details
Discussion
As many active in the forums he frequented are aware Russell AKA drivin_me_nuts passed away on Monday 25th July aged 49.
He touched a great many of our lives both through his open sharing on the forums and his willingness to help others without any judgement, a kind and patient man, a wordsmith and, as many have said to me in the last 10 days, one of the few people we've never heard a bad word said about.
He leaves behind many friends, both virtual and real , and his wife of under 12 months, Jeanette.
So... why the post?!
Russ loved a good motor, PH members organised an amazing event for Lily when she was in a hospice that brought together muscle, exotica and passion giving her a huge number of smiles and memories in her final weeks.
Having spoken with Jeanette she feels that it's only fitting to share the funeral details with the community he enjoyed so much and invite anyone who wishes to come to join us to celebrate his life.
The funeral is 2.15pm on 16th August
South Chapel
Woodvale crematorium
Lewes Road
Brighton
BN2 3QB
Ali_Kat will be posting details of where we'll be gathering for a drink or 2 afterwards, that's as yet unconfirmed.
RIP Russell ""Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think."

Oh st, had no idea.
While I'm no means a properly active, well known member of PH, I frequently came across his posts and he seemed like a top bloke. His thread about the very sad passing of his wife a few years back genuinely made me cry, best wishes to all of his friends and family

Just as an aside to this, on speaking with ali_kat and council baby we're going to be arranging a 2 minute "Silence" across all of the PH forums to commemorate Russ, which will coincide with his funeral.
I for one am going to try and BeMoreRuss.

There hasn't been a postmortem yet so there are few actual facts I'm afraid.
What is known is that he was given the all clear after his heart attack (only a couple of months earlier) the week before, outlook was good but he was found collapsed at home, it sounds like it was quick thankfully.
The past several years hadn't been kind to Russ but things were starting to look better again, it's speculative but entirely likely that the strain of those years caused his adverse health.
Cheers all.

As I've already said, I have no idea how to say thank you enough for this; or how to convey how much this means to his family and his friends.I for one am going to try and BeMoreRuss.

Russ would be humbled, embarrassed & exceedingly touched
