I actually feel guilty writing a post on here when I did not know Russ personally but after reading his words on PH I just wanted to share my sincere condolences to all his family and friends on PH.

The World can be a cruel place but people like Russ make is bearable.

R.I.P Russ and Lily

Jeez, just a name on the screen but it makes you realise how long you've been around when it actually means something.

RIP mate frown

Never recall meeting the man, but that doesn't mean I didn't in a drunken haze at a BTaP.

He seemed like a decent chap, and I enjoyed his posts. 49 is no age. Rest in Peace. Sad times. frown

Posted this in the health forum but I'll put it here as well:

Just gobsmacked.

I "discovered" DMN through his posts about Lily - hadn't realised he'd been ill but just spotted the other thread.

His posts about Lily often brought context to what really matters in life.

Just had a really crap afternoon at work and was bloody cheesed off. Even from the grave DMN continues to make me realise how I was feeling was pretty trivial compared to what matters.

The world is a much sadder place for his passing.

I never met Russ but read many of his posts.

My condolences to his family and friends.

49 is far too young.

RIP.

Sad news, seemed like a great guy. Whilst I wasn't around at the time, I found the thread about his wife a touching retroactive read.

I was fortunate enough to meet Russ on a couple of occasions when he joined us for our annual Palmersport trip - A lovely guy with a passion for life and all (well, most) things PH.

As others have said, he hadn't had an easy last few years but he had such a strong yet gentle way about him - one of the good guys.

He will be missed.

If those close to the family could find their preferred cause for donations I am sure the PH community would make the odd donation.

This is really sad, I never met or had any direct contact with Russ, but his username immediately flagged in my head as "one of the good guys".

Thank you for asking, his wife has asked that rather than flowers; donations are made to BHF please smile
