Quick infotainment help!!

Picked up my new Macan 4 yesterday, what a machine! Love it.
I was just sorting the app tiles when I accidentally dropped one on top of another, creating a 'folder.'
I thought holding it and dragging it out (like you would on an iPhone) would remove the folder, but it just snaps back.
Now, it seems all the apps are locked in position and not where I want them.
Before this, I was able to move them around. What have I accidentally done?
