Just got a letter from Porsche UK saying that my Taycan is likely to be part of a recall to replace cells in the battery due to a risk of the vehicle catching fire.

In the meantime it’s saying not to charge above 80%.

Obviously not ideal!

Anyone else received this?

It is due to their LG batteries (some had defects) and other manufacturers are affected too, although most have fixed this now. Jaguar, for instance, started last year.
Odd that Porsche so late to this. Perhaps it's a different issue to the others and related to battery assembly, which takes place in Germany. But then they were slow with the heater issue too (also a problem for other manufacturers).
Luckily it's only some Taycans that are being recalled (for a check and module upgrade). Sadly, you are one of them though...

Do you know which models / which production period?

No I don't have the recall to hand, but it's reported to affect around 5000 cars. Owners should have been notified this week.

This might help to check yours (but is the US one) : https://recall.porsche.com/prod/pag/vinrecalllooku...
