I'm a business owner and currently I own a diesel range rover that I claim mileage against. With the way we now do business my business mileage is down to almost zero and my personal mileage in my daily car is around 15k a year. I think I want to change to a Taycan sport turismo. There are benefits to the company and myself financially. There are also loads of fast chargers locally. I don't really like the idea of EV's and have only just recently started thinking about one for my daily. Has anyone else recently gone through the same process, gone for it and found it positive/ negative. Out of all EV's its the Taycan I prefer.

I had a test drive yesterday and was blown away by the car. Mine should arrive in Q2, all being well.If you’re ordering today I think you’re looking at delivery in H2 2023 (depending on which model you’re after), if that makes any difference?
From an EV perspective the big benefits are when you can charge the car at home (ideally using ‘free’ solar energy) or at work. If you are relying on fact chargers for charging then the cost won’t be insignificant.
If you want a car that drives for you, I think that Teslas offer much more for the money, but if you want a driver’s EV then I think the Taycan is the standout choice.

They're pretty amazing cars to drive. I ordered one as soon as I'd had an extended test drive around where we live. Have ordered a GTS ST. Hoping it might get delivered early Q1 (ordered early Feb).
Your accountant will tell you the best way to buy it. If you ha e a chunk of residual profit I think buying outright and taking the 100% write down is attractive. Also applies to ex-demo cars if you can't wait...

I’ve got a Taycan turbo (after a 4.4 diesel RRS as my previous copy car) and if it fits your travelling (I’d can charge at home for example) it’s amazingly tax efficient as a company car. My LTD company bought it outright.
Comfy, performance, looks…. I’ve got a weekend toy so I don’t miss the ICE feeling, I just save it for special journeys
If you have the spare money and a LTD Co I think it’s a no brainier (if you can get one in a decent timeframe

Thanks Iain .. my accountant has just got back to me and it certainly does make sense.
For the right type of qualifying vehicle (new and unused) the company could get 100% tax relief against the entire cost of car in year one (doesn’t apply if leased/contract hire) and as an individual the benefit in kind rate is at 2% of list price for the next 3 years. So a £100k brand new electric vehicle could save £19k in corp tax and you’d be taxed personally on £2k
I guess there are no discounts to be had .. I'm going to try to see if I can get one in 3 to 6 months time.

Actually hitting a pothole, which is far more likely, would probably be worse.

Generally I've heard nothing but good reports on the cars - and I have checked.
Conversely , I've been waiting for parts to repair my I Pace since before Christmas - radio/speakers randomly don't work - just as well I've not got it any more .
