Taycan 12 Volt Battery issue
Discussion
My Taycan Turbo arrives at the end of the month and I have been reading an alarming number of posts in the Taycan forum about completely depleted 12v batteries whilst connected to a home charger (yes, you did read that correctly).
Has anyone on here had the issue and, if so, what is the latest from Porsche.

I've had my Taycan Turbo for a week and it's ace. Just a brilliant car. Probably the best car I've had. My Ferrari 430 was more fun (though terribly built), but this is more fun than my 992S, and I'd say more fun than my old Lamborghini LP550 was. I'm very, very impressed.Has anyone on here had the issue and, if so, what is the latest from Porsche.
Not sure what I'd go to next.

Tesla roadster seems the next step. 0-100 mph in 4.2 will rewrite the rule book. Not sure what I'd go to next.
I have a January build slot for a 4S. Drove it for first time on Wednesday with very little expectation. Now, I really am looking forward to it. It’s a long time since I put my 5K down, so I’d almost lost interest. Anyway, very impressive car. Turbo must be even better, but I think I’ll be happy enough with the 4S as a road car. Better get on and get my home charger sorted out.
My 3 week old Taycan 4S has just been hit by the 12v battery problem. It was fine initially, complete dream in fact. 3 nights ago a "weak" alarm noise woke us up, no flashing indicators on our front drive, didn't think it was our cars. Taycan dead as a dodo the following morning, Porsche Assist fixed it, drove that day with no issues, that night the same think happened. Got trailered away yesterday to Porsche West London. Hope there is a quick fix!
Only other problem(s) (seems its also quite common) is a very squeaky drivers seat, and don't hit a pot-hole in a 2.3 tonne car! £800 of new tyres already, (£1 per mile).
Sounding a bit negative, but otherwise massively impressed with the car as a whole, ride, handling, performance, interior, tech...off the charts!

Yes mine had that two weeks into ownership. Took a while to resolve as I didn't want the Porsche assistance guy (who seemed unsure himself) to jump start an EV.... Which was precisely what was needed at the end to get it back to live.
It happened when the car didn't shut down properly at locking. I think the issue was resolved with the first big software update. My Turbo was one of the VERY early ones (JAN20 delivery)

Ask your OPC to make sure you have VR8.6 Update or higher.Only other problem(s) (seems its also quite common) is a very squeaky drivers seat, and don't hit a pot-hole in a 2.3 tonne car! £800 of new tyres already, (£1 per mile).
