You do get launch control without the Sport Chrono option, you just need to put the car into Sport and follow the normal foot on brake/foot on accelerator pattern. When I had my test drive the guy showing me the car said it wasn’t possible either so I had to show him how it works.
Just goes to show how little I know about what I ordered!

I went with RWS for this feature alone, any handling improvements are just a bonus. After owning an Audi S6 Avant for 4.5 years parking the thing in tight spaces was just awkward, so anything that makes that better is a win win for me.

I gave up looking for a dog car/Shed of the week. They just don't exist at the moment with the insane second hand market so we've leased a pair of Mazda MX-30's as dog cars/shopping cars/for my wifes carers to use. £275+ vat p/m. Comical things with a 100 mile range but suit the daily runaround perfectly.

So if I plan to charge at home (non three phase) work three phase (22kw) and the ionity do I need any of the options or not !!

The key for me is how long it takes to charge the basic one at work or at ionity ? Im assuming even the basic one will take a supercharge just slower ? is that the case ??

Im so confused !!

If you want to charge three phase at 22KW then you need that option. I think you can still connect to three phase without it but you will only charge at the regular rate (do check this).

The 150DC option is more uesful in Europe or if Tesla opens up the supercharger system to other brands in the future. It allows you to connect to a 400 series charger and charge at 150kw (if you don't have this option it will only charge at 50kw) - I've added this to future proof my car but I'm buying and intend to keep it a while.

Ionity and other fast chargers in the UK should charge fast without either of the above options.

Yes we had a straight comparison test drive between a saloon 4S and Turbo and we didn't feel the performance differential justified the lift in price. Especially as the 4S is so quick. So I spent a few more Pounds on PTS and other options and came in at £110K - still under the Turbo list price of £118K before options.

The 4s, Turbo and Turbo S are almost identical bar a larger motor and a larger motor and larger inverter respectively; I can't imagine the Turbo S costs more than 5/10 grand more to build but costs 50 grand more; if I was Porsche I wouldn't be making those orders wait till 2023!
My petrol head neighbour recently went to order a replacement for his RR sport daily. He wanted a new defender, but a base model. Was told that it would be two years minimum unless he started loading the options up, the higher the spec the sooner it arrives.

We went with Lombard. Our Bank (Barclays), Porsche or any of the usual supercar finance providers couldn't get close to them.

Ahh that's a bit more brown than it first appeared. Thanks for that.

I went with Vesuvius satin on the wheels and I'm delighted to see how light in colour they actually are. They look far darker on the configurator and they are going to complement the paint colour I chose perfectly.

I ummed and ahhed about the inserts, in the end I went with gloss black to match the gloss black window surrounds.

I think either is going to look nice. I was really 50/50 on the vesuvius inserts.

When I first saw the Cross Turismo I wondered if there would be a sport turismo in the pipeline and if I should wait and see.

I've liked the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo since it arrived but the price point was bonkers and so is the depreciation. Not something I could stomach for a daily. Basically it wasn't £100K better than my 2017 S6 Avant at the time.

Then the EV Cross Turismo appeared and actually makes more sense for me living in the country lanes of Kent considering where I drive and the potholed car parks I have to deal with. Then of course I opted for the 21" wheels cause they look great. Ho hum.

So it turns out Porsche made the car I didn't know I needed. Still not arrive mind, but not long now (fingers crossed).

We've also been through this throught process and it's not a black and white answer. There are a number of variables.

If you're wanting a zero option car for 3 years then hand it back and start again there's a very good argument for contract hire. This is mainly down to the way options are loaded onto leases, in so much as in most cases you pay for options at 100% of cost over the term of the lease. Then there's the mileage variable on top.

Personally I wanted north of £20K in options and a car built to a spec I wanted. I figured if I'm spending this much I want exactly what I want with no compromises.

So for me it made sense to keep the car for 5 years (or maybe even more) and buy it. We then figured out the best way for us to "buy it" was a straight HP deal via Lombard over 60 months. I don't do a lot of miles. Maybe 6000 a year in this car.

The deposit equals pretty close to what the capital writedown amounts to - so is effectively negated by offsetting our CT bill for that financial year, we then have 60 monthly payments after which we own the vehicles in full (we're buying two).

When we come dispose of the vehicles we understand there will be a clawback at the prevailing CT rate at the time based on the sale price at the time.

We understand we are taking an element of risk taking on the full capital value of the vehicle by buying in this manner.

Also worth considering is the effect it may have on some business funding. The cars will be on balance sheet and so will the HP agreements. So if your business needs to borrow money for trading purposes the presence of two HP agreements may compromise that. We are a self funding business so it's not an issue for us. If your business uses and requires third party finance then this may be a material fact.

What is important to understand is there is no one size fits all solution. The above works for us, to others it may look like a form of insanity. Your solution may be somewhere in between.

It depends exactly what you would be doing with the money otherwise.

If you have a cash rich business that's struggling to remove cash from the Ltd entity due to tax liabilities and you have no physical stock or cashflow requirement, say you're a service industry, an accountant, a Solicitor, a Consultant of some description, buy outright if your business can afford to do so, there's no downside.

We buy and sell a product and have our own cash tied up in stock (we don't use finance for stock as it's eye wateringly expensive - double digit interest). We will recycle that stock around two times in 12 months at approx 60% gross margin.

So for us, removing £225,000 (two 4S's) that would be turned around twice every 12 months at 60% vs keeping the money moving in stock vs a cheap HP arrangement, You can see there's not even a consideration.

This is why I explained above, there's no one size fits all solution. You need to look at the global finances of your particular business and do what fits you.

If so seems daft not to lease - £1kpm +deposit , say £9k = £45k over 3 years, off set against tax etc.
Must have missed something...
Fundamentally it depends how much cash there is, also it could depend on the status of the business, is it a trading company and investment company, a consultant business.

There are just too many variables to say one way of fundeing is better than another. It's business type dependent.

I investigated this, simply as my house has an incoming 3 phase supply but we currently only use one phase, the same as any regular private property.

It's a strange 1960's architect desgined house that had state of the art (at the time) electric underfloor heating which needed a massive incoming supply.

I had an electrician come and look it, to activate all three phases we would have had to have our consumer units replaced, UK Power come and upgrade the wiring in the supply cupboard, fit another meter, fit two more fuses (all out our cost). Then I'd need the £1200 22Kw option on the car to take advantage of it.

It all becamoe a lot of hassle and expense to potentially save 4 hours of charging. So we had a regular 7kw charger installed after the single fuse was upgrades to 100A by UK power (free of charge). We still had to pay for all the meter tails to be upgraded to suit.

So if your property doesn't even have an incoming 3 phase supply, just forget it. The cost will be daft and not in the slightest bit economical for the potential upside.

Frankly they all look crap apart from the 21" options. I went with the Cross Turismo 21" in Vesuvius grey satin.

I would have prefered smaller but they were all so ugly I would have just regretted the choice.

I went for the 150kw option as I may use the car in Europe and if they open up the Tesla Supercharger system (which is now already rolling out in Europe) then it makes charging a lot faster. I figured for under £300 I may be future proffing the car.

The 22Kw option soon become a non start when the whole cost was worked out.

I'm coming out of an Audi C7 S6 Avant into the CT. It's almost identical in length but 100mm wider than the Audi.

I used to have regular issues parking the Audi simply due to it's length (just not enough room in car parks for 5m long vehicles), which was the main reason I went with the rear wheel steer and surround cameras.

My business partner collected his 4S saloon this week which arrived on schedule.

The dealer was explaining they are having a tough time. Cars arriving randomly (all models not just Taycans) and in volume often with multiple options missing that are left to the dealer to retrofit. The dealer doesn't know if everything has been fitted until the car arrives and it's been double checked.

It seems the factory are desperate to get units out the door, fully complete or not it seems.

This is my first Porsche (and my business partners), I've made enquiries over the years and got tempted a few times but I always got put off by the attitude of the factory and the dealers I approached.

Now I'm actually buying one and in the system as such, it's the manufacturer themselves that seems ot be the root of the problem. I'm not sure how the dealer network is meant to work when you see how they are treated by the company they are representing.

My business partner jokingly asked if we now qualified for a GT3 slot....apparently this particular dealership had been allocated 3 slots. Seeing as the family that own the dealership have a private car collection of over 100 vehicles, it probably means there are two available for sale. Safe to say neither of us will be on that "list".
