Have just picked up a 296gts with full carbon bodywork.
Looks beautiful.
The car is so small - I am only 6ft ( long legs ) - passenger side would be very squashed.
Steering , gearbox etc makes you want to race it - so direct - like an Elise.

Would like some help please with the controls !
Can you have Apple car play Nav showing and the Rev counter at the same time ?
Can you arrange a shortcut turn off for all the nanny controls - lane assist , speed bonging !, hands on wheel , lane change bonging etc !
Who has mastered the haptic controls , ant basic fundamentals ?
Picked up from a non Ferrari dealer .

Lastly , when the PPF covers the Carbon Diffuser etc are there many pieces cut and joined down each fin or is there one piece to cover it all ?

I know you you guys will have the answers !

Allegedly there's a approx half price special on retrofitting a non/less haptic wheel of £ 3500 currently

This is just hearsay so don't ask me for more check with your dealer

Sounds a nice car! On your profile you mention a Tecnica, how does that compare to the 296? Thanks

Don’t really know full story as have only had a day.
296 is much smaller inside , better ride , tyre noise , engine sounds good , race car like feel - steering etc
Controls are a challenge.
Better built and more modern.

Will never match the drama of a Tecnica engine wise - that is the best ever ! Brakes were awful as had such a violent initial bite - had to be so careful .
Info system etc very out of date - cheap looking steering wheel. Carbon seats comfier.
Easy to drive , simple controls.

Not sure yet - Ferrari should be an easier daily drive once all controls are mastered.
Not much difference in price now - 23 Tecnica for a 25 GTB. Tecnica strengthened a lot , 296 good spec cars ( the must have external carbon ) are harder to find and firming up now

1) Congrats. People are overlooking this car. Ferrari dealers will tell you quietly that it is the best car Ferrari is making right now and it compares favorably with some of the back catalog greatest hits.

2) You can't have both Apple Nav and Rev counter at the same time. This is the inevitable cost of having all the nav done on the driver screen rather than a secondary screen either on a floating central ipad (like on the Luce) or buried in the dash (like the Amalfi).

3) Don't know. My earlier car has none of this cr@p.

4) Best approach with the arrow pad haptic is use it stationary and avoid using it on the move. For the other haptics, one tip is if the haptics are in sleep mode you wake up the haptics by touching the arrow pad in the middle, then the other haptics are all alert to further inputs for maybe 5 seconds or so. The other tip is don't stack haptic instructions. Each step you need to do slowish and separated to give the system time to catch up. Oh: and pressing harder and swearing does not help any! It really is a pretty awful execution from Ferrari, but I bought the car for how it drives and I mostly ignore the infotainment. When I really need the infortainment / nav then I set it all up before I start moving.

5) My PPF was done by Topaz. I also have carbon diffusers at the back of my car: the PPF is done in separate sections. There is no way you can get the PPF to lay tight around the fins in one piece. However the way Topaz have done it is really nice: there are no visible edges.
