OK I am old and therefore not as flexible as I once was but am not fat and only 1.7m tall. Yet I still found getting in and out of the 296 to be awkward. Reminiscent of my old Lotus.

Yet some potential customers will be of similar age to me, many younger ones will be far taller and many will also be far heavier, if I can put it that way,;) than my 76kg. And that without even thinking of the people across the pond.

So have Ferrari got the car size right in these well fed days?

At 6’3” I got as far as one leg in…. ‘Ha, seat set for a shorty’, reach for lever/adjuster to put the seat back further and then the sinking feeling of the already being up against the bulk head. Way less room than 458/488/F8.
On a different track, I’m really starting to worry about the future of supercars. Always liked the ‘latest thing’, but don’t think I’ll ever find anything better than what I’ve now got (or previously had). Makes me feel a bit sad……..

Question then, for those who have seen it in the flesh…are the front overhangs as large as they appear in the pics?

Can’t remember as I was to busy reaching for a buckethehe

It’s not a car you could lust after, the rear haunches are awful way to high.

It a sad day when you don, lust after a Ferrari.

No. Its quite a good looking car in the tin with a rear end that reminds of a 250LM. Engine bay is nothing to look at and has quite a bit of empty space in it. The cabin has none. I found it awkward to get in and out of and that was with the seat fully back and me of average height if that. It should be sold with free yoga classes.

Thats it out for me then, at 6'5 with a 36" inside leg, all the 458/88/F8 iterations have been fine with racing seats in them, but sounds like the 296 is far smaller space wise

Not in the slighest bit bothered, owned 458's/488's and now the F8 spider and yes I am sure I am biased but I think the F8 spider is by far the best looking of the bunch and vastly superior to the 296..so nice n easy to keep this one!

Both my son and myself studied the 296's design at Maranello and we really liked it in the metal. Coincidentally a few hours later we were at the Ferrari Museum and the first car we saw was a 250LM which was clearly the inspiration for the 296 design. The front two tone bonnet doesn't do it any favours whatsoever and IMO it looks way better in a single colour.

I looked at the 296 at Maranello Egham and I found getting in and out very difficult too. Maybe it the racing seats. I'm 6ft 5 and fit fine in my 360.

The 296 is a beautiful car though.
