Had a test drive on Sunday in an R.
Not what I expected for several reasons. I felt disappointed.
The pace is blistering, but unsurprisingly I'm just never going to use it.
I found it ok overall, had no desire to sign a deal even at the rate it currently is.
It's nice in black and Kaimu grey with black alloys, but in other combinations, in person it looks a bit like a boat from the rear. Not what I expected at all.
In terms of range (miles), the figures in discussion with the dealer for an R with spirited driving are closer to low 200s (304 WLTP is what they quote I think). The S WLTP is at 373ish, but you would expect to get high 200s, little less in winter.
The excess mileage quotes for multiple configurations were 51-61p/mile on BCH with Drivalia.
In summary, it was ok. Did I want to take it? No.
Even I'm a little bemused as I was so excited to jump in it, and the price point is strong. I was sure I was going to walk away with one on the day.
I am surprised by your conclusions - was it just the overall styling left you underwhelmed, or the driving / technology piece? Most people really like them and the current price point makes them seem crazy cheap - more like comparing it to a Tesla rather than a Porsche etc Not what I expected for several reasons. I felt disappointed.

I’d be very tempted, it’s just too big, have an x3 which is still large but can mostly park ok, not sure with this.
I went to have a look at one yesterday and the Salesman confirmed it is longer than a Range Rover Sport - it really is a huge car. Lovely inside though, lots of space as you'd expect.I test drove an S, it was showing 140 miles remaining at about 40% charge which seems to tally up with the Salesman saying it was doing around 300 miles to a full charge.
I think they look best in black - the rear end is slightly challenging and it's not a conventionally pretty car. I thought the interior was great, it almost feels like a concept car, the grey interior in the one I drove reminded me of something like a Gemera with the shape of the seats, screens, buttons and switches and all the different materials (everything is leather, alcantara and detailed plastics).
I was told the BCH deals are only for stock cars, which, surprise surprise, there aren't any of with no options. I couldn't get a quote at the level I could on the website (similar to what was posted a page back) but it was still competitive at sub £1k for an S with options Ex VAT. If putting through a business, the 0% BCP might be a better way of doing it due to the 100% write down, this is quite a big number on a £115k car.

I’ve been offered an S for £723pm 35+9 deal. From my local dealer. I test drove an S, it was showing 140 miles remaining at about 40% charge which seems to tally up with the Salesman saying it was doing around 300 miles to a full charge.

This includes a lot of options such as black, upgraded interior, comfort seats, highway assist etc.
This is also for a new factory order.
Without options it was less then £700pm.

That seems very good - is that Business ex-VAT? Was it after a bit of negotiation or quite forthcoming? This includes a lot of options such as black, upgraded interior, comfort seats, highway assist etc.

Just been for a test drive of an R today. Wife loves it, I'm quite keen but an S or even the base as the only things I'd definitely add are glass roof and not have the smallest wheels. 22s are fine.
I have just bought an R. I wanted an S to be fair, but the R worked out cheaper on the BCP deal and obviously comes with a few nice options anyway (rear wheel steering etc). I know you lose some range (which was a big consideration for me) but the savings more than pay for any charging on the go I may need to do the once a month I need to.
Did over 30 months on a 6+29 of £749 + Vat.
Was a ‘pre configured’ one so should have it in the next month hopefully.

I drove an R today on a half hour run
Immense acceleration, as you’d expect. And the interior is fab. I like the looks, even if it is a bit of a boat, certainly have some presence.
We did mostly NSL twisties which probably aren’t where you’d be giving it full beans (as tempting as it was) however even at a medium pace I found it had a bit of side to side motion about it, like it was always trying to fall off the camber before correcting itself. Maybe the massive tyres?
Lovely car though, and quite unique. Not sure I’d go for the R but some immense deals here and on the leasing thread.

Anyone who has an Eletre, could you tell me, does it have CarPlay live now?
Also does it support apple digital key?

Whats the boot size like on the Eletre? In comparison to a normal SUV type car?
Bigger than a Range Rover sport but slightly smaller than a full fat Range Rover.Tiny frunk and under boot storage where you can put charging cables etc and some minor items at best.
