Thanks all for the recent posts. Check out the prices on business and personal and leasing for both the R & S. Lotus website also has some great deals but look a little higher.
Cracking deals from Lotus Cars direct on leasing.com.

I'm trying to sort a test drive and have enquired- quotations pending.
Incidentally, anyone had an insurance quotation yet? Reasonable? Slightly terrified of the R having watched it go sideways whilst smashing a Urus in a race on carwow youtube.

About the same as a model y for me and the wife. Nothing major in terms of changes. Cracking deals from Lotus Cars direct on leasing.com.

So I was just about to order a boring model Y as a replacement company car. Total cost to me (loss of salary and top up) about £500 after tax.
It appears for an additional £200 + deposit I can have an Electre!!!
Any more real world feedback on range? I’m currently in an iPace so used to ~200 miles. Ideally I’m needing around 250 miles as regular trips from Bristol to London coming up as my son goes off to Uni!
The R is £40 a month more than the S which is a little more bonkers but I assume range would be well below 200 miles based on the apparent S range?
Anything else I need to know - is CarPlay now available on UK cars?

The guy at my local said they were getting around 300-310 through winter, so I would expect around 350 in summer. It appears for an additional £200 + deposit I can have an Electre!!!

But Harrys Garage was very critical of the range, need to watch his review again. But anything around 300 would be great.
Test car had carplay.

In my y performance, I’d get 250-300. The latter only for a 50-70 on motorway long distance. It appears for an additional £200 + deposit I can have an Electre!!!

In the R based on friends, and my test driving 200-250.
Thanks guys useful. Anything around 250 ish is fine.
I’ll head to the dealer tomorrow or Sat and see how it goes. Looks like the offers are in place until 30/06 so a few weeks to sort.
Will probably edge towards the S for the extra range. Also I read the higher spec audio is included on the S but not the R!

It’s confusing but I think there is 3 levels of audio. I’ll head to the dealer tomorrow or Sat and see how it goes. Looks like the offers are in place until 30/06 so a few weeks to sort.

A basic with no subwoofer, middle level kef system and then the added extra kef system
That’s from the Lotus website for an R
You can play about with it here
https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/eletre/personal-fi...
Looks like excess mileage on the R is 37ppm

With lotus Bradford direct it was 6p per month as below.
Thanks for the info all.
Test driving an R tomorrow. We'll see.
Re p/mile on leasing.com excess mileage now updated to 22p/mile on business. Personal shown as TBC on application.
Lotus direct (web) show them as circa 26.25p/mile for an S on 10k, and for an R on same at 30.21p/mile for BCH. Reducing as contract mileage increases.
Weirdly, I've been told in excess of 50p (not happening).
Some weird finance maths going on here. Range too variable for similar product/finance - 6p-50p/mile excess.
Can't stand it when numbers are manipulated like this, either accidentally or intentionally.

Had a shot in an R today, thanks to this thread, cracking thing, got to look at best way to find one through the business, but think I have my Tesla Model Y replacement!
Considering the S over the R as the S comes with the better sound system and don’t really need bragging rights over the 0-60 time.

You don’t want regrets 🤪 don’t forget the R has handling pack by default for rear axel steering etc so easier to handleConsidering the S over the R as the S comes with the better sound system and don’t really need bragging rights over the 0-60 time.

Agree with that sentiment! Only looking at a 2 year lease, so don’t need too much;etc
Comfort seats
Intelligent roof
KEF upgrade
Would need something reasonably soon, but not much about, and those options whack the monthlies up!

What is the genuine range do we think on the S. I am thinking of leasing but Harry’s garage frightened me!
Thats my only wobble also, directly from the same source! It will only be say 10% less than Model Y and 95% of my daily driving is well within the range so I should be ok.
I ran some figures through on the new M3P and I'd have to put down a considerable deposit to get it to the same price as the Eletre, mad when the ELetre is about 2 times the price, and a much nicer car.
Had a test drive on Sunday in an R.
Not what I expected for several reasons. I felt disappointed.
The pace is blistering, but unsurprisingly I'm just never going to use it.
I found it ok overall, had no desire to sign a deal even at the rate it currently is.
It's nice in black and Kaimu grey with black alloys, but in other combinations, in person it looks a bit like a boat from the rear. Not what I expected at all.
In terms of range (miles), the figures in discussion with the dealer for an R with spirited driving are closer to low 200s (304 WLTP is what they quote I think). The S WLTP is at 373ish, but you would expect to get high 200s, little less in winter.
The excess mileage quotes for multiple configurations were 51-61p/mile on BCH with Drivalia.
In summary, it was ok. Did I want to take it? No.
Even I'm a little bemused as I was so excited to jump in it, and the price point is strong. I was sure I was going to walk away with one on the day.
