Firstly let state I am certainty not a Lotus hater, as I had a new Evora GT410 Sport in 2019 (wish I still had it) which was superb. I then brought a 23 plate 1st Edition Emira with only 2,100 miles last Nov exactly the spec I required, at the end of March I went into the garage only to find my car had a flat battery, after a call to Lotus Road Side Assist. (AA) they fitted a new battery, but I found I had various fault lights that they could not clear, so my vehicle was taken to my local dealer to sort. I lost the car for about two/three weeks.
After its return it went into limp mode within a week.
Lotus Road Side Assist again attended, eventually returning it to the dealer, this was the 6th May. The dealer informed me the battery was only 40% charged and needed to be investigated further.
After 2-3 weeks with dealer emails going back and forward to Lotus the fault was traced to corrosion in the main front/intermediate harness plug (see attached pictures) and would need to be replaced, Lotus Customer Service is so disjointed as they are in Spain who are overseen by Lotus Escalations Team (who I think are London based) after many emails they eventually authorised replacement which was duly ordered by the dealer.
As you can imagine this was major heart surgery for my car as the dealer was given 40hrs to replace the harnesses with the offending plug. I collected the car on Monday 28th of July.
So please even if your car runs fine please have the front harness plug checked as the Lotus fix of a rubber mate over the fuse box is I’m sure is only there to get them past the warranty period as if this plug fails on you after your warranty has expired you will be left with a massive bill, can you imagine 40hrs at roughly £140 labour plus the cost of the harnesses.
I estimate £6-7k and from my experience Lotus will probably not be that helpful.
Any questions please feel free to ask.

I no longer have mine for various reasons ...... but its a common known issue. The rubber mat they put down as a fix is not 100% reliable either they have been known to leak afterwards.

Emira made after a certain date come with the rubber mat now included on the production line.

Its known as the HVAC fix I believe.
