Lotus have just posted a video of the Emira being driven on track after landing in the US. Sounds pretty fruity

must say, that sounds very good, almost a fast rally car sound-ish, would not be bad for the i4 Emira. The Emira sounds very similar to the Evora, which is not surprising!
I'm just not sure. Living with the noise of the Evora is not turning out to be much fun for me. I must be getting old, but it's too loud. I was blatting this week and overtook someone (shock) and as I went by I was embarrassed by the noise. So much so that I'm investigating whether it is possible to run it in sport mode with the exhaust valve closed - I prefer stealth!
Sorry to move OT, but I hope the Emira isn't even louder!

lol, I have the same, I guess its because we got more inputs in our daily brain, so that we get a little less space resistance (which also causes many people to complain sooner and have less flexibility) in our brain and become overloaded faster, and therefore look for fewer stimuli?I'm just not sure. My car also has quite a bit of noise unfortunately, I have as many through-flow mufflers as possible, 4 short sport catt + X-pipe muffler + 2 pipe mufflers + end mufflers and then still quite a lot of noise, + I even have 2 anti-noise pipes welded in, and also at the inlet air filter 2 anti-sound boxes... because its a Z3 there is not much space in length to put more under :-)
and it still sounds like an e46 M3 CSL on steroids... (with e92 M3 V8 and a big aluminum air collector with 2 big inlets.
in itself it sounds nice, but usually I drive so softly (e.g. in a parking basement) or I drive a bit stationary so that it is less present... I'm getting old too hahah

You can run it in sport with the exhaust closed. Just push the exhaust button after sticking it in sport? Seems to work fine on mine anyway I'm just not sure. Thanks, I thought I'd tried that already but will give it another go. I'm pretty sure the valve still opens like it does in normal mode.BertBert said:

To be fair it will open above a certain rpm + throttle opening regardless I think, so even in non sport mode if you press on a bit it will get loud (usually mid overtake I find which I agree with you I’d rather it didn’t most of the time!)BertBert said:

Sounds a touch fake and overly farty on the overrun but otherwise decent sound. Wouldn't be surprised if it has been doctored for the video tbh.
Sounds to me exactly like my 410 Sport!Nightmare said:
