Discounted stock Emiras...

Drove one earlier. I liked it. Enough to buy one. Curiously I didn’t think it felt like 400bhp. Gear change not as positive as my Final Edition Elise either. Interior is good. Much easier to get in and out of. I thought the KEF audio was as good as, if not better than BOSE in a Porsche. Which is good enough for me: Rides and brakes well. Bit too much supercharger whine but overall- well worth owning for a bit.
Cant imagine many Emira owners wanting to swap for an Elise.

I drove one a couple of months ago - V6 manual - and liked it enough to buy one. But I didn’t because there were none for sale at the right price in the colour and spec I wanted. My feelings are pretty much the same as yours though I thought the clutch action was a bit odd.

After pondering it while watching prices drop a little I realised that I really wanted something lighter and more simple; it was a bit refined and capable for a weekend car. So I bought a new MX5. It’s only a tonne, the top comes down, the manual shift doesn’t have any question marks in my mind and used values aren’t questionable (and I have way less money tied up in it anyway). I did also try a 992 GTS and an A110; the Alpine was very capable but less fun than the Emira to me, and the 911 was too expensive for a toy but will make a great daily in a couple of years alongside the MX5. Not sure the Emira now fits into my life which is sad, because I really did like it.

Tried the v6 and i4, actually preferred the i4 and although less power it felt quicker with that extra torque. Thought the noise was decent as well, although the v6 sounded better.
Some good 0% deals on at the moment as well. I also wanted to compare to a 992 Gts but none of the dealers I tried seemed very interested in letting me test drive one which is a shame as I’m in a lucky enough position to be able to stretch to one had they put themselves out a little.

There have been some very good deals on in-stock 992 GTSs - I’d definitely suggest trying a different dealer and giving it a try.

A few months ago now, but a couple from Tewkesbury Porsche, new unregistered with £9k off retail. Though I found a good few pre-registered ones elsewhere cheaper - just on the Porsche used car search. It does also show new ones.

Anyone successfully negotiated a chunk off a new car or are Lotus pretty rigid?
Interest free pcp is appealing but I’d want some discount too.

Not sure who you'd even talk to with online ordering to negotiate a deal!

This is where the dealers being removed just doesn’t work.

According to the various owners forums the Direct Sales model is no longer in place and Lotus have reverted back to dealers selling the cars from new.
