Same as above just not getting used and they are depreciating like anything else so as soon as I made the decision was ok to let it go. Biggest issue for me was manual gearbox was more of a pain than I remembered so reluctant to take it where I may get stuck in traffic which further limited it's use so always took one of the other cars with auto boxes. Will probably go 911 pdk with active cruise etc. Miss not seeing it in the garage as it is stunning (which is why I ordered it) but don't miss (not) driving it. Not the type to just go for a drive and not as many opportunities as I thought I'd have. It's great to drive and mine was faultless so don't let the forums put you off. I did way more miles on my road bike in the time I had it !!!! If it fits your life than grabbing one about £65k low miles would be fantastic, everyone loves the looks and is really positive.

Mine is up there with the best of the private cars, it’s done just over 1,000 miles and there’s been very little interest at 68k at a local “prestige” dealer on sale or return

I’ll drop it next week if nothing changes.
Whats the spec?

V6 manual touring, blue with black pack, yellow calipers, dark grey alcantara interior with yellow stitching, about 1,200 miles, nearly all up and down between London and Newcastle.

There are plenty of others just as good of course.

Hi, looking to buy a used Emira for low £60k's. I appreciate values are all over the place right now and I'm not trying to capitalise - thats all I have in available funds.

If there are motivated sellers wanting to avoid a low ball part'ex or strong fees from a dealer for a sale or return please let me know.

I see delivery mileage i4's are around 70k - that's around a £15k / 15% saving from a factory order.

Hi Ken does your car have the forged alloys and have you had any issues/warranty work done incl corroded panels bubbling paint/electrics etc?

I’ll have to check on the wheels. I paid extra for the nice black ones, but can’t remember if they were forged or not.

There hasn’t been any corrosion.

It was delivered with a duff steering pump and the wrong software for the wipers, both of which were fixed when it went straight back. The wiper issue stopped them engaging the fast speed in heavy rain.

After that there’s not been any issues with it at all.

Edited to add, here’s the sort of wheels.

I bought a lovely Final Edition Elise a few months ago. Emira was on my shortlist as was a 991.2. Prices weren’t dropping enough on either. An Emira remains super intriguing for me. Maybe the Elise will make way for one later this year.

I had two different S1 Elises in the late nineties / early 2000s.

The Emira doesn’t have the steering feel of those, or the feeling of connection to the road, but it’s the closest that I’ve experienced since. It’s also nicer for long drives, and the feeling of build quality is much higher.

I’ve just taken a deposit on mine.

Driving it back home for the buyer to collect reminded me of the three things that most stood out for me in ownership.

On the drive itself the feel of the car was sublime, and the engine was awful. How I wish I’d bought the inline 4.

Back home I had a parking sequence like the 751-point turn in Austin Powers to get it into a very restricted space, and moved from disliking the manual box to hating it.

For £10,000 more than that you could have had my immaculate fully-specced 1,200 mile First Edition V6.

I think the price is for the fully repaired finished car, not as shown above, probably still steep though.

What did you find awful about the engine? I'm not a fan, but wondered what you didn't like about it

I don't know much about Lotus but an Exige went past me recently (same engine) and it sounded terrific.

I thought this engine was well regarded?

The engine is lacklustre at best and the gearbox is too long. The exhaust they put on the 4 series Exige and Evora sound incredible though.
