I have a little crack in my windscreen and I'd like to get it changed. Tried to add it on to a service visit to Alpine centre Manchester who have told me they can't do it and would recommend I speak to a bodyshop.

I guess I'd have to order a screen through parts department, collect it in my van and take it to the bodyshop?

It seems a little odd and a lot of hassle - has anyone else done a screen?

Car is in warranty but it’s a stone that chipped it. Unfortunately it’s got tiny “legs” off the chip rather than a bullet hole type thing so it’ll always be visible even if I have it. It’s not really bad, I’m just disappointed to have it chipped so soon.

No idea if my insurer covers it but it’ll be the cheapest worst service possible if they do that will probably result in glue all over the car, a load of broken clips and generally a worse outcome than leaving it. Hence I would have preferred to have it done by Alpine or at least by someone who had already done an A110 screen.

Is that from prior experience?! I've had a few screens done on my insurance and they've always been fitted perfectly, no missing or broken trim pieces, no visible bonding stuff.
It is, and even worse I know a gent (sadly now retired) that basically made his living driving round fixing cock ups.

From recent posts, I'm not sure you want Alpine Manchester touching your car. Poor feedback seems the norm for them at the moment.
Point taken. Liverpool?

Got sorted at Solihull - Liverpool, Manchester and St Albans won’t do windscreens but the Solihull guy was super, super helpful. Way better service.

Interesting - I’ve got the clear PPF on some of my other cars and it’s very good except you definitely can tell it is there - sort of semi distorted view.

Do the A pillar covers come off to do it? If so how do they unclip?
