Hi, has anyone fitted an Atmospheric Atmospheric Blow-Off Valve to there A110? And if you have do you have a video of how it sounds or any links?

I have fitted it.

I bought the recirculating version - no sound difference.

Slightly snappier throttle response (but barely discernible on the road). That may just be me projecting my expectations...

Thanks for the response, I’m not really expecting any performance difference just want the noise hence the interest in an atmospheric one.

What was it like to fit?

I was going to fit it myself but there is one bolt on the underside that is very easy to drop during disassembly (I know someone else who dropped it into the engine bay never to be seen again) so I had Alpine Winchester do it. They only charged 30 mins labour.

Other than the awkward bolt, it’s extremely straightforward.

I too swapped to a recirculating version (GFB) & wrote up a little guide for them. I found the bottom bolt tricky to access square on without an articulated allen key, so I munted my bolt head. Ended up popping off the hoses & removed the whole unit for assembly outside the car. Some cars aren't happy metering air flow with atmospheric BoV's - is that why I've not heard one before?

The Forge Motorsport E-DV atmospheric units claim to not cause any MAF/EML issues.

LifeA110 have just started selling one too however I think it might be a rebranded Forge unit.

The key feature should be better throttle respone, is my understanding correct?
Can any of the users confirm, that the improved throttle response is noticable?
Or is it just a nice gadget with drastically improved sound - in case it is the open type?

They claim improved throttle response and less compressor surge but I imagine it’s marginal.

For me it’s only about the noise of an Atmospheric unit. You can hear the stock one if just like it to be a bit louder.

We fitted the below and noticed a better response, especially partial on off throttle as it is not an on off switch like the oem so you don’t looses all pressure straight away

Noise wise it’s different to oem, but overly loud, so if your after the MAX Power vibe this is not for you, I always thought that the atmospheric versions were actually less performance oriented as the pressure is lost from the system, making back on boots times fractionally longer as your starting from scratch again.
