15th Sept - Shropshire / Powys drive out
Discussion
Already run several runs out for fellow A110 owners this year and have been enjoyed by everyone (I think) so just finished planning another
Sunday 15th Sept - departure time from Bridgnorth approx 9.45am
138 miles, combination of A and B roads taking in some great roads and some wonderful scenery, straddling both Powys and Shropshire. Starting in Bridgnorth (perfect if you need an overnight stay the night before, its a very pretty place with dozens of pubs),
Going down as far as Buith Wells and then up and over to Newtown before coming back into Shropshire, ending upon the very convenient A5 in Shrewsbury.
As always, quality of people joining is more important than number, but sure we can get both.
Regular break stops so that people can travel at their own pace knowing that we will re-group at regular intervals.
Both printed road books and GPX files available in advance but it would be really useful if anyone wanting to join can let me know in advance - I do all the printing myself so its my own time and money that goes into getting them prepared.
We now have a small WhatsApp group where we co=ordinate these runs and have general A110 chit chat, just let me know if you want to join in
Route is below to give an idea of the day

Can’t disagree with the Builth ‘triangle’ although a biker coming in the opposite direction a few years ago maybe could ,I was south of Builth heading north , well known series or roller coaster bends I was in my Integrale evo, er not hanging around , well known corner that catches you out, I was fine , suddenly met by a bike coming towards me who clearly wasn’t going to make it, I switched to the wrong side of the road, they realised pretty quickly that I was giving them a way out , picked their bike up,and went down my left hand side , no idea who they were but pretty sure that my decision to go into a blind corner on the wrong side of the road , coupled with them seeing an escape , saved their life that day. Still a great road and yes I’d recommend that triangle

Shame you haven't included the Builth triangle....
South on the B4520 towards Brecon, right onto B4519 to Garth, along the A40 to Beulah then back over the B4358 (possibly one of the most rollercoaster roads you'll find) to Newbridge.
Thanks, will look at that for a future run South on the B4520 towards Brecon, right onto B4519 to Garth, along the A40 to Beulah then back over the B4358 (possibly one of the most rollercoaster roads you'll find) to Newbridge.
Great day out yesterday taking in some wonderful A and B roads around Shropshire and in to Mid-Wales
The numbers:
7 cars, 10 people
Miles covered - approx 160
Incorrect directions in roadbook - 1, but in my defence the wrong road was a great one and was easily sorted
Roast beef lunches consumed - 8
Great roads driven - lots
Rain - some but not enough to spoil things
New friends made and laughs - absolutely
Car, as always performed brilliantly and despite some very spirited driving still returned over 30mpg
Another run sorted for mid Oct and plans afoot for a number in 2025 including a 2 dayer
