I've been messing about with some interior ambient lighting solutions and settled on this.

So for anyone interested, here's the setup

1. USB-powered LED strip light in a colour of your choice

2. Right angle USB adapter
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QYM1KVK

3. Connect to the media USB outlet. This has the nice advantage of powering up on unlock and staying on for a while after the car is locked again.

4. Run the cable to the rear of the centre console and attach a short length of the LED strip to the top. It is self adhesive and can be cut to length depending on how bright you want it.

That's it. Fit and forget.

I bought the ADM one this spring. They have few different options including a carbon one. Mine is the adjustable version with basic plastic finish. It looks like this on my A110:

Amazing - thanks for posting this!

It's always annoyed me there's no ambient lighting in the car so I ordered the bits straight away and have installed it today. Longest day of the year possibly not when it's most needed but hey.

Did mine a while ago.

If its a facelift car and you intend using the media USB then the adapters in the OPs post are not the ones you need as the later USB ports are arranged horizontally rather than vertically - I ran my cable up and through the armrest (just needed to pop off the switch panel and undo the screws to be able to ease it and thread the cable), exiting at the rear of it and plugging into the twin USB adapter I have in the 12V socket
