I would suggest getting your facts right first as a course of action, it could be a simple mix up with another cover.

Have you tried talking to the dealer? Something along the lines of "hi, you had my car last week, but you seem to have fitted someone else's engine cover in place of mine. Can I come in and we can sort this little mix up out?"

My facts are right though. It went in with an as new cover and came out with a knackered old one. It does not matter if it’s a mix up or accidental. Now my cover is fitted to someone else’s car.
I think they charge around £1000 for these btw.

No... You're accusing theft when a mix up in a busy workshop is also possible.

Accusations without proof do not equal facts.

Is it too late to reject the car?

A course of action?
Your 1st course of action should have been to contact the company not the internet

Before you name and shame on here you really should speak to the dealer and give them an opportunity to correct what could be a genuine mistake, if indeed you don't have the correct cover.

I have a bad relationship with this dealer after my warranty concerns were fobbed off resulting in me leaving poor feedback. Now to find this has boiled my blood.

So you haven't contacted them?

I'd be furious too... But could be an error on their part.

So basically you are hell bent on giving them a bad review/reputation, irrespective of how or what happened.

Now you see why PH have their strict no naming and shaming policy because of posters like you.

Ok I give in. Have deleted my post and will try to resolve by contacting the dealer.
Thanks for the calming responses.

I would have thought if you get poor customer support where they will not even acknowledge major safety concerns on a £60k car then they ought to be named and shamed.
Bizarre that you would defend that

Just defending PH's right to have a no name and shame policy, and the dealers right to not be called out for theft, when you haven't even had the courtesy to speak to them first so they can investigate your, as yet, unfounded accusation.

Accusing a dealer of theft before you have even spoken to them and given them a chance to find out what has happened and hopefully correct their mistake, is wrong and very immature.

If indeed it transpires that they are guilty of what you have accused them of then you have every right to make others aware , but you will get short shrift for that on here if you name the dealer.

Make sure you report back with your findings though.

This is about more than the engine cover. Please read my previous postings about stalling and wet braking.
However I have removed the original post after calming down and contacted the dealer who has asked for pictures of the damaged cover.
I will update with my progress

Oh dear! If I'm not mistaken, this is the curse of the infamous "Lemon" car doing the rounds again. This time, a new issue. But I must say it and its owners seem to be having an awful lot of bad luck! Sorry to hear and hope it gets resolved quickly.

Keep your chin up!

Thanks for that.
I don’t have a problem with bad luck, that’s just life and BTW I have a really good one.
No, my problem is piss poor support from the dealer who shall now remain nameless but we all know who they are and being silenced on this forum.
Ignoring genuine concerns and misappropriation or theft of my property whilst my car is in their care is unforgivable and I thought the forum would like to know that. Seems I was wrong.

I realise of course in this day and age we are all censored to some extent. Shame really.
