Hi All

I am in the market for an Abyss blue A110.

Can I ask for your opinion of the spec of this car? Missing anything major on the options front?

Pricing looks OK.

Thank you

Nick

Looks like it comes with active exhaust, mirror package, Focal and parking sensors ( can’t tell about the backup camera). Those seem to be the must have options, other than wheels and brakes.
Price seems fair from a main dealer.

Out of interest but how can you tell if it has the active exhaust? Is there a visual giveaway? Only asking as had been looking myself.

Only think I would note is that this appears to have the older infotainment if I'm correct? - no carplay or android auto I think.

I agree, looks like a good spec Pure with low mileage and a reasonable price. You’re getting a lot of performance for £42k. Much will depend of what’s important to you. Oh check it has had the fuel pump replaced.

Twin pipes when looking through the exhaust trim.
Yes the older infotainment by the looks of it.

Can’t speak for this particular car, other than it looks lovely in the flesh, but Adam the salesman is a good guy and easy to deal with. Bought my new GT from him last month.

Thanks All. I appreciate the feedback.

Yes Adam has been good to deal with.

Only reservation at the moment as the slight smallish wheels being 17 inch but could upgrade them at some point I suppose.

Re the fuel pump, I am told this car is not due any recalls ….. for what that is worth.

Best colour in my opinion, tho white also looks good! Seracs or GP wheels would be my preference but 17s wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Looks like a fine low mileage example and in a desirable colour. Don't be fobbed off by the fuel pump - there is a formal recall program under way and your 2021 car is most definitely in scope too. I'd insist on it for peace of mind, as part of the deal. Also check for paint bubbling around the wheel arches - caused by galvanic action / and or dirt or grit damaging the underside of the wings. It's covered by the 12 year warranty. I wouldn't discount the 17" wheels - it's fairly rare to see them, and by all accounts they appear to give a more comfortable ride than with the 18" option.

Before you pull the trigger, I'd also research what the prices are for a similar example from 2022 MY with the upgraded infotainment. Just to get a comparison.

Good luck!

Lovely looking car

That 12.9% APR is a killer they want 13 grand interest from you in 4 years if you put in 10.5 k deposit.

Mind you could be buying cash then yes its a decent price.

If you are financing ask about a new one the deals are much better think some were 0% APR

Lovely looking car, that! The shonky front bumper to wing gap/alignment is a standard fitment on the range!

It looks a very nice example, virtually just run in and I think all the major items have been covered by others, so my only additional small observations are:

1) Can't tell if it has a rear camera which can be quite useful;
2) Since it has the 17" wheels it will also have the smaller brakes;
3) It doesn't have the optional Alpine arrow on the front wings, which you may prefer, or not.

All in all it looks very good and not a bad price, although personally I would be tempted to try and stretch to the Phase 2 (2022 on) with the revised infotainment system, or even negotiate on a new one if the numbers can be made to work...

Whatever you decide Nick, best of luck with your search!

Thanks all.

I’m trying to not let the alloys be a deal breaker (but the 18s with the performance brakes are visually nicer imo).

I’m working through some funding options and will keep you posted.

Just for your information and assuming you're OK to buy privately and are relaxed about the GT spec (comfort seats in particular), there's a nice looking Abyss Blue 2022 GT on the Facebook 'Alpine A110 Owners' forum, advertised for £47k by Charles Cleal in Wiltshire.

Not sure it helps but I bought a brand new 110 for exactly £50k towards the back end of last year. I think others were getting even better deals. Might be worth exploring that so you can get a fresh one?

The larger brakes (with the optional coloured calipers) do fit on the 17" front wheels - but not on the rear. So, if you chose a coloured caliper for the bigger front brakes you could get the rear set painted in the same colour... And if you wanted to improve the rear brake performance there are plenty of accessories available via Life110. That said, with the additional costs and effort involved; you might as well go for what you really want - a model with 18" wheels. The guys have a point - if you can get a low / zero interest deal then you may be better off buying a brand new A110.

The thing with the new cars from what I can see is that they’re all priced around the £60k mark (on Autotrader at least) - so even if you’re getting their lower APR rate of 0-2.9%, it looks like they’re just offsetting this “saving” against a higher purchase price?

That is unless people are negotiating £5-£10k discounts at the till.

The way I found mine was to ring around and find a car that had been bought by the dealer at pre price increase money. That and perhaps the fact it was winter might have helped. But I think you’ve got to set aside a bit of time to call and speak to the dealers - it’s quite time consuming I found as the dealers have few alpine staff compared to their Renault people, so they are often out doing test drives, days off, handovers etc.

Best of luck, and don’t be put off by any of the recent negativity. They are a beautifully designed car that genuinely is special in any company.
